6 to 6 day or night shift. Starts with team mtg to dish out tasks and get crossover from previous team. As a previous hd offroad mechanic with no experience on haul trucks, management wouldnt give me training to learn the equipment so it was hard to shine in probation with only 3 sets. Most mechanics on site are contractors or Finning. I would avoid Newcrest to be honest. Very clicky crew. Pay sucks, no overtime, straight time 12hrs a day, 14 days in. New truck shop is nice but no bathrooms or break room in the building. Not great in the winter obvs. Camplife ok, food not great for camp tbh. Lunches can be really bad. Gym is nice. Glad to be out of that place

Supportive Management. Good wages. Good benefits, continuous learning benefits and support.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Camp life has it's perks but also has a lot of challenges and conflicts with home life. It's not for everyone.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Supportive and ever evolving. Company take overs is a reality in mining these days. Change fatigue is a real thing.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
12+ hour days 2 weeks on 2 weeks off. Challenging but collaborative. Team centered. Always lots on the go with plenty of opportunity. Constant interaction with new and existing team members.

The supervisors were top quality people with a true scene of what needs to be done. Safety was always pushed as the number one priority in the workplace. Any grievance that arises can be brought to them with absolute confidence.  The accommodations and the camp itself with it fine quisine, is extremely pleasant.  The gym and games room were in constant use.  Overall there's a feeling that you are taken care of.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Good Company with a lot of good people.  Long travel but better than other mines

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Company is going through some growing pains, but worth it.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The team I worked in is great.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Get up early and get to my room late.  Long 12 hour work day.  What else is there to do when in a fly in camp.  Work and sleep.

The site has a NewSafe program (safety leadership) that all employees and contractors participate in.  They have a values award program which enforces engagement and safety. as well as onsite mental health and wellness services. If you like a face-paced environment, innovative and care about people this is a good career choice.

I like working with Newcrest, from my experience, NML has offered mentorship and coaching which gave an insight on aspiring engineering looking to be in a management role one day. 

Competitiveness is an integral part of the work culture and it made me go beyond my boundaries to stay on top. I'd like to return and work with NML if given the opportunity.

The work is demanding however safety is a top priority at Newcrest thus any work that would jeopardize the safety of the workers is suspended. Very friendly colleagues and supervisors

This company hires people who have no buissness in mineing equiptment .they are a constant threat to peoples lives and well being .the worst mineing  company ive ever seen . Cheap no overtime and loww wages for the industry
 

 great place to work with staff and the people like family and the accommodations is great the food is awesome I miss it every day like to go back and work for the company with Newmontproductive place to work and and great games room

The work culture is that of a cast system with how management deals with contractors and staff.  Camp was adequate.  Other staff were great in making a family environment in the isolated environment... food lacked freshness.
