I've really enjoyed my time at Newmont. The company has a strong safety culture, values-driven leadership, and a genuine commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. From day one, I felt welcomed and supported by my colleagues and managers.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Lots of room for advancing. Having 2 full weeks off with the family is great

Missing holidays or special events back home

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very inclusive in my experience. Safety focused, Management checks in on you as a person, not checking in on work performance. The company addresses any concerns in a fast timely manner.
When it was time for me to move on and advance to a new role or department, I was given lots of help and attention 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
steady work. pre start meeting, 12 hour shift with the crew. head down for dinner and sleep to do it again.

Mentorship and a huge sense of "team". Add endless opportunities to grow, develope, and be challenged.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Change. It's a time of acquisitions and dealing with change. It can be tough to keep personal momentum at times.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Inclusive, regimented, caring.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Camp life. Wake up, get clean, fed, and start organizing my day. 6-10 hrs per day teaching in a class room environment, the remainder of my 12 hr day is data entry, mentoring, being mentored, field visits and training development.

Work time may seem short only you when you are continuously keeping busy.
To focus on your work is to complete your task with more ease.
Working with management is something that I've gained more experience in my workforce.
Each co-workers has different characteristics and that is what I accept in order to work with them.
Hardest part of the job is to try and complete the task that has a deadline.
When completing a tedious job is something I enjoy knowing that I have accomplished the task.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Excellent ambient, very flexible, good remuneration and benefits. Opportunity for professional growth

Mine environment it is not easy, very dusty and high risk

Excellent culture and friendly environment 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Interesting and diverse, some time very busy

Worked there just before it was taken over by Newmont. Good team of people with strong leadership. There has been a lot of reshuffling in the past couple of years for the company so job security is something to watch. Must be open-minded to working across multiple timezones to accommodate site times. While I was there saw great things for its future however since Newmont took over, I was sad to see some plants close and so am hesitant about the direction the company will go in.

The job itself was not overly complex on the surface, but the bureaucracy can be incredibly frustrating and the SOP's can change depending on the good or bad mood of the person in charge of the team that day. The company is constantly "restructuring" which also means neverending changes and worries about job security. The company promotes how good their work culture is and how they protect their workers, but they really don't. My case was so grossly mishandled it was honestly comical in reflection.

Great Company with excellent work ethics. Motivated co-workers with a knack of wanting to improve their understanding of fields they are not familiar with. Great discussion on the Progress of Projects. Enjoyed doing structural mapping and sharing the information with the co-workers doing ore reserve estimation. Hardest part was to always look out for the bears in rugged Arctic region.

For the time I worked at Newmont I enjoyed what I did.

I had a great team that was supportive as best they could, and typically worked with people that were willing to step outside their comfort to learn a thing or two. 

For a remote job, the camp was homey, people we usually friendly, and food was great!

Don't have to fill out a time sheet. 


What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Constantly changing everything for no reason. If it is functioning it must be revised until it doesn't. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Used to be fantastic, under previous owners. After Newmont continual turmoil, employee dissatisfaction. Favoritism is highly evident.
