Normerica is an interesting place to work, the work itself isn't difficult but with how often their machines break down or dont get the proper repairs when needed is ridiculous in my mind. Almost every line of theirs has something wrong that has been a known issue that they "band-aid" in order to get it to work for the time being. The work itself isn't difficult if given proper training but it is incredibly hard to get a full course of proper training. From my experience (almost 3 years) they swap out management rather annually and the management that is there doesn't communicate with the floor. There is no respect shown, no appreciation or gratitude from anyone higher than a shift supervisor. They are more than happy to just add responsibilities to your list of jobs without compensating you for your efforts. They're more than happy to bend the rules when it suits them. I would not recommend anyone working there who likes to be involved in whats going on around them. If you prefer to only ever do what you're told then its perfect. For those who don't like being ordered to have an entirely different job become part of yours with no compensation then this place is not for you. 

When u start the is no orientation no safety course or even here's a fire extinguisher.
On the first day they will try and force you into over time until useless you know the law.
They give no notice when they change your shift but expect you to give 24hr notice when you have a doc appointment even tho it was made out side of your schedule. On top of that to get ahold of them is impossible as they have very limited amount of lines in like 2 I think and no voice mail.
On top of that the fork lift drivers have no regards for a person's safety as they will bump and push you with the pallet they are carrying.
Also be prepared to do all the heavy lifting without a break as the rest get the light jobs even tho they say there is a rotation if u get tired there is not. By far the worst place to work probably get better treatment in a Chinese sweat shop at least they have cameras.


I saw many people that cared about their work and poured in they're creativity and sweat into they're jobs. It was rare to see any of them get recognized. It's really a "what have you done for me lately" type place. It was hard to stay motivated when you would have an idea to fix a problem and get it shot down because??? No reason given. The people that cared about what they did, left or were layed off. The ones that stayed stopped caring. The ones that sucked up and said yes to everything seemed to get promoted. There was a lot of favorites. My manager was good, but I could see the hardship with him trying to keep things together many days, hope they found theyre way out. Shame that the company can be so much more.

This is where you go if you want to hate your job. There's a reason why there are so many openings and why they stay open for so long. Beware. Stay away if you have other options.

There was absolutely no training when I first began and was thrown under the bus from Day 1. Senior management, especially the owner and the president, are extremely demeaning, coming by your desk not to praise you for your effort but to yell at you instead. The company does not pay any of its suppliers or carriers on time, leaving the staff to deal with the mess left behind. What especially stood out was the turnover rate. In half a year, at least 20 people were hired/fired. Almost all of the employees with the exception of a select few have been with the company for one year or less. My honest advice is to stay away from this place, especially if you have a family to support, and thoroughly consider all your options.

Salary was good, benefits were awful (only prescription and dental, no extended health). Fear driven environment, privately held company allows the owner to make emotional decisions regarding your livelihood. Prior to Covid the firing average was 1/week. Fingerprint sign ins were required to ensure all office workers arrived on time and did not leave even a minute early. You must receive special permission to send emails before 12pm and phone lines do not have voicemail or a switchboard, departments are required to take turns answering the calls and redirecting them. The owner is untrusting and power hungry.

Worst place I've seen in 50 years. Seems like all the liars and cheats team up  and eliminate anyone who might threaten their simple way of doing the least while having it seemly look like alls well.the hardest workers are forced out.everyone seems to have a problem  for every solution  .workers will toss anyone under the bus to make themselves take credit for others work.i believe that this behavior is the direct result of the employee not ever having any other work experience will do whatever is necessary to keep the position knowingly that another chance of a new job is slim to none

My day Starts with me figuring out what products I'm running for the day then I set up my line accordingly.  For this I had to set my lable printers, scales, jug packaging machine, and automatic palletizer. I also ran the packaging  department for the bakery which also required me to know what products I was running for the day. I then chose the dog treats required and the dispensery rate for each for an even blend when they get to the scaled hopper which I manually operate via a foot pedal in order to fill the proper bags with product. Everything required for me to do my job properly and efficiently was taught to me by Normerica.

From ownership down this place is a steaming bag of turds. Mostly underpaid unmotivated morons working there that are either running from something or have no where to go or are just useless at everything else they have tried. The one or two solid employees are wasting their time there and they figure it out and nearly all the rest do is have a terrible attitude. Hard to blame them to be honest because the pay is absolutely horrible and the work is mind numbing and physical.  Go find another low paying gig somewhere else because this place shouldn’t even operate let alone have human employees working there.

Small staff in the labor area is grate for training and internal employee relations, learn quick and becomes almost a family environment. There is a disassociation between management and labor staff. Was never sure if it was done on purpose to maintain a good working environment. The more you know the more places you will be called to work in the plant at any given moment. It's good to be wanted but needs attention. Often times you will be running around building if not stationary at any one machine. Needs an update on yard equipment to move units around for shipping and internal use.
