What is the best part of working at the company?
There are very few rounds of job interviews, and the interviews are easy.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The CEO and CFO push a lot of responsibility onto employees without adequate training. Additionally, the management applies unreasonable amounts of time pressure and assigns a heavy workload.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment and the culture are highly unpleasant. Upper management berate employees for failing to meet deadlines even though the factors/causes are out of everyone's control.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Working all day except for an unpaid lunch break.

The company is too cheap to pay decent salaries, resulting in an excessively high turnover rate. Most employees are overwhelmed with work and often find themselves performing tasks outside their job description. There is no opportunity for career growth or advancement within the company. Even when a salary increase is granted, it usually comes with a significant increase in workload and responsibilities, and the salary increase is typically lower than the base salary for their previous role

Interesting project, new technology, good support by co-workers

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Having to solve non-standard software/firmware requirements without sufficient technical information, bot in-house and online.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Good and responsive team, mediocre management leadership.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
60% software development, 20% testing, 20% documents writing

Morale was low. Everyone was underpaid and overworked. Turnover was high. The engineering team had a good manager but the CEO liked to micromanage and frequently pivoted between ideas. The CEO often trivialized our work while also setting unrealistic goals and expectations that showed a lack of understanding of current technologies and industry practices.

Decent work environment. Co-workers are some of the nicest people you will meet.  However, too often they are forced to work unreasonably late.

Top management has clear goals on what they would like to achieve, but unfortunately can translate into crushing workload.

The company is showing growth, but is quite lopsided, causing lots of "fire-fighting" to occur.

They do take the time/effort/resources to equip their employees with necessary training, including external certification/programs if necessary.

At first, the job seemed great, good training, supportive coworkers, and a solid manager. But once the CEO took over as Drift Manager, everything fell apart. Turnover was constant, and management became ruthless.

There’s no room for mistakes one misstep, and you’re dragged into a meeting where they break you down. They let me go right before the new year without hesitation. The CEO is abusive, and the environment is toxic. I learned some useful skills, but it wasn’t worth stress.  


Norsat is definitely a friendly environment to work.
The management can do better in providing a sense of job security among their employees. 
The salary structure is one of the lowest in the industry. 
Norsat provides a descent opportunity to learn new and interesting technical skills in microwave technology.
The company sees most of the employees as liabilities rather than  valuable assets.

This is a great place to work and learn a lot. Management is good and HR Policies are strong. Very casual environment, people are more focussed on getting things done rather than looks or clothing. Trust towards employees - no attendance, just ensure you work on time and deliver results. Weekly updates help everyone track progress. Great to learn about a niche industry!

Norsat is a fast pace environment. We encourage all employee to work hard and play hard. For those individual, who is looking for 9 to 5 job, Norsat might NOT a right place for you. Overall, Norsat is an excellent place to work where everybody does NOT afraid to do whatever it takes to get the job done. BRAVO!

The job description mentions that there will be learning opportunities and free training but when it comes to meetings and learning sessions, the production team is excluded although the Production manager have already invited us. CEO is rude does not value the production staff. Treats people as low life. BAD CEO !!
