I had the opportunity to work at a few of the plants in NASG over the past 6 years, and then came to Woodstock a few years ago, and Woodstock is basically "the scraps" of NASG.

Despite the Canadian skilled-trade market being even tighter than the US, the compensation at Woodstock is far less competitive and much worse compared to the NASG US plants. 

The culture at NASG in Woodstock is bad to where in many cases, management and workers cut corners and operate equipment/machinery unsafely despite pretending to preach safety. The interpersonal skills of management is also rude, unprofessional and "cliquey" which has been said by others. While this behaviour is inevitable everywhere, it is very prevalent here and very unwelcoming.

The culture is bizarre here but it feels as if a majority of the people here wanted to work at Toyota and got rejected, then land here as a back-up, and have a perpetual chip on their shoulder.

NASG Woodstock also has a pretty bad HR as well; HR never gets back to people, ignores people and pretty much does nothing. 

Like any place, there's always a small group of good colleagues, but there is really no benefit to work here, especially since there are better manufacturers all around Woodstock.

management in tool room is pathetic,once hr is done with you your sent to floor with no instruction,guidance or any picture of where to start, you have to learn routine from other guys on floor. they offer a 4000$ bonus lol .it goes directley on your pay at 1000 every 3 months so after taxes you will get 485 $ but if you quit or get "laid off" you must repay it in full  4 grand.nobody has got it yet!.. politics,gossip rumors general moral is in garbage!,yhey talk alot of saftey but someone is gonna get seriusly hurt there!. the tool room manager is a complete weasel,should not be running a shop he doesnt have skills for it . hotter than a sauna in summer mid 40s no heat breaks .. turnover rate in toolroom is very high,more than 15 guys in 18 months....... pay rate is decent but thats just to keep you hangin in there.... some guys work like crazy and others get a pass (old buddy system) .. place is TOXIC

Just stay away from here, they are two-faced here. Interview goes great, they preach about Work Culture Safety and so on. But once your on floor it the complete opposite, people don't care about you, Safety of you, or even heath/Well being of employees. The numbers matter, and nothing else. Training a joke, they don't show you how to pack products, they don't show you Quality stuff. 
When you get hurt/ sick they don't care about you just when you are coming back. No asking if your ok or nothing. HR is a total joke, smile at you then after they are done, your a nobody. Management Supervisors are totally way off base with floor employees. 

TLDR: work for this company if you want to get let go after a few months due to “shortages” 

I worked here for a few months after a long interview process. Having to make multiple trips out and spend countless hours feeling like i had to convince them to hire me. 
After nearly a month of waiting, i got the job. It was great at first. Lots of people and most of them happy. 
Month 3 rolled around and they fired nearly 20 people across all shifts due to “work shortages”. 
Then it was my turn. Fired for no reason and left empty handed with no employment. 
This is also the place that had happy employees that were there for years (10+) and then just mass fired. 

They make it crystal clear to all associates you are replaceable. Which in factory is common but they go above and beyond. If you don't get close with management advancement is hard if not impossible.  They discriminate, and they don't work with their associates for anything outside of work. Mental health issues, doctors appointments etc etc. If you go for an interview ask how diverse they are. Also ask how many women they have in the press shop. The labor board has been a regular visitor for awhile. 
The company was honestly great when it was Woodstock stamp. Things have drastically gone hill since.

A typical work day could  be trouble shooting  equipment.
 Overseeing equipment installations
 Assist new product design verifying process & drawings
Going over new engineer designs
Running  trials on equipment 
Updating plant layouts
 Assisting weld techs in the weld department from setting up weld cells to dialing in weld fixtures.
Work with quality on any rejects to find out the root cause of the reject.
Work with associates on the floor to improve ergonomics to make their jobs more comfortable. 
Check efficiencies of the equipment.

You're day insiste of rushing and stressing out. The training is next  to none but  expected you to know everything with in a week. Most of the employees been with the company for 10 plus years and part of union so good luck with asking a question or asking for help unless you want to be criticized and looked down at as if your stupid. Don't get hurt because you will get fired the next day not good place for anyone 
Stay far away from this place. 

If you don't get in buddy buddy with the management or disagree with something about the job get ready to be marginalized. No room for advancement and supervisors that don't care unless HR is involved,  the work us repetitive( but that's a given at a stamping plant). They constantly ask for ideas to make the company better but ignore all the ones that aren't free so things are rarely improved.

Management appeared friendly but it was all optics. I was told I was doing a good job until they walked me out for not being a good fit. The workplace place culture is just a talking point. They don’t actively care about people or their lives outside of work. It is hard to fit in or know what you can do to improve if no-one spends any time giving feedback or helping you.

NASG has been very good to me. I have advanced in the company and my hard work has been recognized. I am great-full for all they have done for me and my family over the years. The company has a good retirement plan for it's employees and the benefit package is comparable to other companies this size. NASG is working hard to stay competitive and trains its employees to do so.
