As a member of the Executive team I am responsible for the sales and operations of events and catering
at 1 International and 12 National Event properties
• Managed the team which accomplished Year over year growth of 27% in a challenging economy in 2012
• Manage all company-sponsored events – due diligence trips, conference calls, trade shows,
golf tournaments and staff parties
• Make arrangements for air and ground travel, and lodging pertaining to events
• Source venues through site research and visits; recommend and engage catering, audiovisual and rental
needs, and coordinate development of materials to execute a quality event
• Negotiate agreements with outside providers and subcontractors to ensure lowest cost and highest quality
of service
• Determine fiscal requirements and prepare budgetary recommendations, and reconcile all expenses
• Provide post-event analysis, budget recaps and participant feedback, and incorporate learning into future
plans working with colleagues to measure, track and evaluate the impact of events
• Responsible for developing new training materials and training Senior Event leaders in our country

The superintendent I had was very unprofessional and was very big on favouriting certain employees not based on performance but personal relationship. The higher management project managers and above don’t care at all about the little daily employees they won’t even look at you when they come too site they are too good for you. The pay is reasonable if you have skills and the perks of discounts at their restaurants is nice but overall not a great company to work for if you are just a trade or labour they don’t seem too care about you and they have crazy expectations/deadlines they don’t have work trucks and expect employees too use their personal vehicle for company use. Which seems crazy for the size of company they are.

There is not a best part this company is woke and cares more about feelings than a fair wage they are a terrible company  and want u to work all the time they will not hold holiday pay it gets paid out on every check so u will never take a holiday they want u to work always

Paper work and mandatory morning exercises

The wrok environment is not good and the culture is woke

Stressful  and uncomfortable lots of unreasonable demands put on u

Never underestimate the supervisor/manager 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Becoming a better worker, improving listening skills constantly.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Hard work, stay out of other workers ways, and watch that your expensive cellphone doesn't get stolen by a co-worker.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Fear of getting warned of violating the management's rules for fear of getting the 3 strikes and I'm out termination.

My experience working as a Housekeeper with Northland Properties was very positive. The environment was professional and well organized, with clear standards for cleanliness and safety.

This role helped me develop strong attention to detail, time management, and responsibility. I learned the importance of following procedures, working efficiently, and maintaining high hygiene standards to ensure guest comfort and satisfaction.

The team was supportive, and this experience strengthened my work ethic and understanding of the hospitality industry. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with Northland Properties

A typical day at this job is stressful and frustrating, with little transparency and an overwhelming workload. I learned that the company evades responsibility for human trafficking cases by using small businesses as intermediaries. Management is ineffective, showing no real commitment to ethics or employee well-being. The workplace culture is one of cover-ups and fear, where questioning practices can have consequences. The hardest part is witnessing these irregularities without being able to make a change. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Be very careful.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
It's the most poisonous place I have ever work. Everyone talks behind other's back and can't see each other's progress. They discriminate a lot between employees. Many leaders or managers are promoted because of their connections or being white, not because of their education or work experience.

They don't care about your career growth unless you work in the restaurants/hotels.
Even being career growth forward about your position is met with resistance and management tends to push promotions as far down the line as possible until you get an offer elsewhere or someone above you quits.
If you want to work somewhere where your job role doesn't change and you want to coast doing the same thing and you have no ambitions, this is a good place for you.

The way they will cheat on paying hardworking people in any given community

The lack of leadership and clear direction

People are treated poorly by inexperienced upper management

Frustrating  poor communication no drive from above

Fast growing company but with no clear corporate vision,  roadmap, strategic and plan. Changes are happening too fast where the management and employees cannot catch up. The company is in the transition from old fashion mentality to the modern one. This company was a perfect start for me to improve my professional skills in Canada and I met many good people there.
