A typical day is not working the unit you were scheduled to. Filling in on units that are short without a nurse.  Numerous responsibilities and tasks that are unrealistic.  No management presence to assist with said tasks.  Toxic environment with disgruntled staff that are bullies. Care that is rushed.  Telephones that don’t work half of the time. Dealing with many family members who are high maintenance.  

What is the best part of working at the company?
Flexibility of hours, working under minimal supervision

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Workload, time sensitive, attention to detail, workplace gossip

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Can be toxic, easy to get into the gossip, easy to be caught up in drama even if you try to keep to yourself. Some good people too.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Many different tasks, must prioritize your tasks based on time.

I learned a lot about being a Personal Support Worker. I found it very interesting and helpful as to what I want to do for my career. I only volunteered there so I knew that being a Personal Support Worker is what I actually wanted to do before spending the money to go to school. I enjoyed caring for the clients and the co workers were a great help to me. The most enjoyable part of volunteering is just helping and caring for the clients. I leared how to use the lifts. Assisted with the shower room. and doing your everyday care with the clients.

I enjoyed working at Norview Lodge. I learned more then what I learned in the books in school. I thought I had an understanding and appreciation for life. Though until you see misfortunes, you really don't have an appreciation or understanding of life.

I really have enjoyed my work experience at Norview lodge. It is quite a change from my previous line of work. In less than 2 years I have gained a lot of knowledge in the field of long term care.

Clean and organized facility.  Friendly staff.  Downfall is they will book all registered staff part time 2 or 3 weekends in a row without premium pay. Rare to have every other weekend off.

Norview is a full place to work, staff is great 
Norview is a very busy LTC home, while I worked there I worked amongst some amazing people and learned a lot from them

Management is horrible, some ladies are great to work with while others are miserable and bitter. Most residents make it worth the while, as they are grateful for excellent care.

Enjoyed the co workers as well as residence within the home. clean, friendly environment. Most coworkers were great to work with, most communicated well and taught what wasn't  known to others.

Incredible staff management. Team oriented and organized. Residents are cared for there and treated like family. Staff treat each other with respect.
