What is the best part of working at the company?
There is a strong sense of community within the hired staff. Everyone is very kind and easy to get along with and are willing to help when needed with no judgement. There are also perks like staying at the hotel for free if you have a close/open shift, or during a storm, a yearly christmas party, halloween decorating contests and more. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
There was a high demand and the place is open 24 hours, 365 days a year. It was mandatory to work on big holidays like christmas. The owners have a superiority complex and don’t treat the staff very well. Would come and expect “the usual” while not noticing they’ve never seen that staff member before, posting their meals to their accounts and not tipping etc. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
We had to sign a contact that makes us cover all tattoos, not have any hair colour that is “unnatural”, no piercings, you weren’t allowed to have your nails done. They seems to be following outdated standards that limit personal expression and individuality. I believe there was a section about hair diameter as well, which basically means “no afros”; which is extremely outdated and offensive 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Greeted and sat guests in a friendly and orderly manner based on wait times and existing reservations Experiance working with large families, international guests under communication barriers, guests with disabilities. and religious dignitaries
Managed in-person and telephone quest inquires, resturant customer service requests and reservation bookings
AsSISted managers with quickiv resolving service and rood related issues
Managed cleaning of menus, FOH, and coat/break area (Dusting, vacuuming, general tidiness)
Monitored guests for intoxication and immediately reported concerns to management, contributne to a sare
dining environment for all patrons
Experienced in both inside and outside serving environments, including caddy carts collected cash, credit, debit, and gift certificate payments and dispensed change for cash transactions Worked with hockey tournaments, dance competitions, corporate functions, and golf tournaments
Assessed reservation books and group contracts daily to arrange breakfast and lunch floor plans
Sign out of keys, opening of bar, and restaurant in the morning, setting up buttet, lights, milk and cream, cottee etc. to prepare for opening before mangers arrived after doors open Count and balancing till at $200

Worst place I've ever worked. It was so bad I questioned my career choice. I've been away from this place for three months trying to get my hours signed off for my tickets to advance my career  but they screen phone calls and always have excuses to not sign my documents. Basically wasting almost a year of my life which I now how have to invest more time and money into and start over due to childish behaviour which after reading other reviews, I shouldn't have been so naive to have applied here.

If your are looking for mentorship, training, tools, a work schedules, work life balance, good/sane management that respects people, look elsewhere. 

They will find ways to make you hate your job and they won't listen to reason or logic. You will be blamed for their own neglect, lack of staff/support/tools/safety. 

It really doesn't matter which department you work in, you will experience the same treatment. People are all depressed and burned out. People were treated like they were stealing from them because they expect it due to the fact that they know they are taking advantage of people because when people get desperate they do questionable things. It's almost like they feed on conflict and bullying. They won't even let their security gas up the security vehicle because they don't trust them. If that doesn't say anything, I don't know what to tell you. 

Long story short, I regret applying here and I should have listened to my friends and the very true reviews who have experienced first hand what employment here meant. It's was a sacrifice not worth taking for my life and health.

What can I say about this place.  So much potential but completely out of touch with service culture and what the hospitality industry stands for.  Management here are atrocious and you really can't fault them because I look at the top for leadership ie. the ownership group.  With the exception of one owner I don't have anything really nice to say about the other 4 owners.  If staff do a good thing or make a customer happy then you should be at least rewarded or recognized for it and not be reprimanded for it.  All of the renovations are nice and they truly want to upgrade and keep up in the resort industry.  Let's face it without the staff that work hard here on a daily basis, all of the renovations is lipstick on a pig.  There are a handful of long-term employees with the mindset that they can dictate policies and do what they want because they have been here forever.  The bullying that I have seen both during the day and overnight is really sad and is harmful to the service culture they try to portray.  

I don't want to sound negative as I have had some good times here and met some great people.  I'm just very disappointed in the way this played out and honestly felt this way my only way to vent and give people here an honest opinion of my time spent here.

This place is terrible to work for. The owners don't care, the chef doesn't care, nor does the sous chef. I was never trained by the other chef de partie despite asking, and told just to just figure my job out I'm not helping you. The staff told me to run on my first day before I even began work, and hr does nothing regarding staff issues. I worked here for less than two weeks and when I resigned due to them not being honest with me about the job or mentioning that I had to provide everything from spoons to ladles to spatulas to whisks because they have no equipment, that it's too bad that I didnt want to work there but I don't have a choice so see you on your next shift and you have to do your job. The kitchen is the dirtiest kitchen I have ever worked in because no one cares or enforces rules.  Management will yell at you if you get a drink not on your break and if you stop working for more than 5 seconds. Do not sign that contract they give you, or you will regret it like I have. Their contract over rides our rights as workers and they can treat you like a slave for 10 hours a day with no breaks. They can hold your money that you worked for too, they will own you. Please do not work here.

It is a very busy work environment from Spring to Fall. Your hours really take a hit in the winter when business slows. Your schedules do not come out in enough time to plan anything really, you'll get them sometime between the Fri-Sun before your schedule starts on the Mon.
I found the management to be decent, most of the time willing to coach you and help out. There are quite a few managers there though that do not want to be there and absolutely let you know it. I loved most of the people I work with although there is quite a lot of gossip here - feels like a high school environment most of the time.
Hardest part of your job will be trying to get a manager to help out in difficult situations. Most times I would wait upwards of 15min for assistance with difficult guests.
If you enjoy trying to help and like to work hard, this may be right for you. If you like proper structure and working with others that enjoy following company policies and procedures, this probably won't be a good fit.

The Nottawasaga Inn is a very fun work environment. The managers are patient with employees, but expect above-average outcomes from them. I enjoyed my time there because every day was different. The workload was always enough to keep me busy, which is an important aspect to me. I learned many new skills working there, and developed some of my preexisting ones. Since working there, I have become better at task management and communication. I have also improved on my problem-solving skills. The hardest part of the job was the hours. I would sometimes work for 12 hours, with little to no breaks because of the nature of the job. This aspect of the job has made me very determined and resilient to fatigue. My co-workers at the Nottawasaga were very kind. Even though I was much younger than them, they made sure to help me when I was in training and include me in activities they plan.

Be prepared to get your schedule one day ahead of time. Too much to say about this place. I dont know where to begin. People are not treated like people. They are treated as a number. There are so many good people working there that dont get recognized ever for their dedication .  Many times you have to come to work very early and have numerous breaks throughout the day. You may be there for 12 hours but only get paid for 8. You get 8 hours off between shifts if you beg for them.  This gives you time to go home, relax for an hour, wash your uniform, get 4 hours sleep and go back for another round.  It is a good job for a single person but not for someone who is married  or has children. Your whole life is consumed by this place.
One good thing I do have to say is the GM  is very nice and has been working very hard for the last year to try to make things better. I hope he can do this.

I’ve read a lot of bad reviews for working here but honestly my experience was the opposite. We worked as a team to get work complete. Yes sometimes there was drama but for the most part I liked my coworkers and we got along and laughed together a lot. Some even became good friends and it felt like a family where we supported each other  especially on the stressful check out days. It was hard work I won’t lie, so don’t expect it not to be but it had its perks. Free fountain drinks at lunch plus some salads and occasional treats, the supervisors were all friendly and helpful. Sometimes it was frustrating not having a predictable schedule every week but they were flexible with you when you needed days off for appointments or other plans. Plus you got to keep your tips. I can honestly say that I will miss working here 

Worst place I have ever worked for. They do not follow the labour laws. Cattle is treated better then the employees here.  HR won't help you its the owners way or the high way. Even if its against labour laws. They bleed their employees of their own money and hold them responible for things they shouldn't be held responsible for. You have a start time but never an ending time so they can keep you as long as they want. Good luck getting your entitled unpaid half hour break after working for 5 hours. They tell you when you can have a break.  You won't get your schedual for the next  week until fri, sat, even sometimes sunday night.  Therefore making plans or sortimg out your other job (you will need one working here) hours are impossible.

One of the best places to work. Very friendly even family like environment. Lots of diversity and respect for the multicultural work environment. I automatically felt like part of a team and fell in love with the people who work there, I’m so happy to be a able to work with such a wonderful group of people. Another benefit is that they offer great discounts for stays at the hotel, golfing and fitness for the employees who work here. I definitely recommend anyone who is looking for a job in the hospitality industry to come and apply, this is a beautiful resort with fantastic people and lots benefits, truly a great place to work.
