My residents have gotten to know me so well and enjoy coming to physio that most of them have their very own schedule. 
I have learned  a lot about what consists of elderly care. I get along very well with every one in management staff within the MCM nursing home and as well as Novo Peak Health. I feel comfortable asking or calling in a question no matter what it may involve.
The hardest part of the job right now is dealing with covid issues.
The residents have had some activities limited because of covid but we are trying to keep them as active as much as possible.
The most enjoyable part of my job is seeing a resident turn a half to full circle when it comes to restorative care. Also I have to be a bit bias, when I was away for surgery it was the care the residents gave me when I returned back to work. Made my heart full to know they truly missed my company.


- Make sure you comb over every paycheque for mistakes and be on them about fixing it. 
- Don't expect adequate training. Or even a start time to show up for the training at. There is a lot of guessing involved. You will get training, but it will be a month or two after you started and you'll have figured everything out for yourself already.
- Fight for travel pay if they have you going in between two homes. They will offer you something that doesn't even cover gas. 
- The residents and in house staff make the actual workplace rewarding and enjoyable. You will build really good relationships with all of them. 
- The sum up is, be on your toes and be on management to give you what is fair. The wages are below average but it is fine as an in between job because of in house staff and residents. Management will listen to you, but it may take a couple emails or phone calls before you get an answer or a solution.

Good company to work for in terms of sched flexibility and hours. Support Office is helpful and knowledgeable. Company needs better incentives and opportunities to advance employees who are dedicated and reliable. There is little room for growth. Salaries and hourly wages are somewhat competitive in the market compared to other physio companies but need to be given better/more consideration for senior employees and years of service. For example - regular wage increases for years of service and more vacation time above the 5 year mark. Employees with more education and experience should be compensated more. Overall good quality company with bright future in the industry.  

I enjoyed my work; it's the management @ Novo that I am not pleased with.

They don't appreciate the level of expertise or support I put forward.  Due to its lack of support and organization, lack of its understanding towards my stressful situation in some rare occasions, I felt the management just wanted to "micro-manage" me - I felt very "restricted" and "controlled".  There was no support towards how I felt I was bullied in an environment, how my requests fell on deaf ears.  For this reason and others, I resigned.  Other reasons included also they paid you just minimum wage but expected you to do a lot of administrative duties which I felt took too much of my time at home.



To start your career you might want to do any job just in your field. But they pay you so low that it seems like a min wage job. They take 10 times more work than min wage. So much paperwork documentation. Documentation at 3 different places and then you have to account for every minute of your day. And your documentation time cannot be  more than a given percentage. Very cheap company. Need to increase their wages. I work so hard and yet no recognition. You work good you get more and more work. Same wage and no increase in pay, do not expect that!!

I have nothing  bad to say about  this company. 
Novo Peak Health  has been  nothing  but supportive to  me.  They truly understand that unexpected events happen in their employee's  life,and they will do their best to help.
When it comes to wages,I  do agree that PTA's are underpaid for the amount of work they do, but this is not  because  they don't  want to pay their  employee's more.
Low wages for PTA's are the same across the country, and Novo  Peak hourly rates are actually  higher compare to other Contract providers.

You are busy from the start to the finish of your day. I have had to learn patience. Management is quick to help. Great work environment if you can take criticism. The hardest part of the job is not having answers to a question. The most enjoyable part of the job is getting to meet new people.

Not much to say besides the residents are the only thing that makes the job worth while.

Employees Mental health issues are ignored when requesting support that is needed.

Very busy. More work than 1 person should have to balance. Management doesn't listen about the challenges or struggles of job which makes it very stressful and overwhelming. Quarterly meetings are useless unle
ss they decide to listen and make changes

Since instructors and PTA's do not get paid for set up or the time spent on paper work the hourly wage is MUCH lower than any where else. There is a lot of paper work you must do on your own time!!
Also there rate is lower than advertised as they charge YOU for a contract fee on each invoice. No travel expense!
The classes are free to the public so the classes are packed.

lack of communication between myself and some of the Physiotherapists that I work with
