I had fun working at nuburger (for the most part), the best part for me was my team as everyday that I came to work I knew I could count on them and built a lot of positive relationships/friendships with team members. I would say the pros of working there are: lots of opportunity to learn and grow (you will learn something new pretty much everyday if you are willing), friendly team members you will make a lot of friends and actually have fun at work, management is willing to help you with most things, organized work environment and easy to learn and get used to how things work there, if you’re interested in culinary it’s honestly a great place to start as you will learn a lot. For me the cons would be: your hours are not guaranteed and that is something that all staff excluding management experience there, I feel there’s high expectations for staff which is okay but it’s not reflected in the pay and there is basically no opportunity to increase your pay even if you advance, it’s a high stress job like all restaurants can be but sometimes depending on the management it can become too much without enough guidance/leadership to get through the shift, also compared to most restaurants the tips are not good. Overall in my opinion it is a nice company to work at, it’s a local business, the team/management are very friendly, it’s a great place to learn and develop your skills, but there are a lot of limitations to how much the management can address your needs and you won’t make much money there.

Management is a joke. They insult the staff and treat them like nobody's. Quick to put down and rare to be positive or show appreciation for anything besides themselves. People are under paid for amount of work that's expected. They dont care about you, just the business. Never give raises unless you ask personally and it's only 15 cents more tops. What a joke. They are very time sensitive as well, they will clock you out for going to the bathroom for too long or any minor thing that doesnt involve them and take your tips away if they feel like it. Staff usually have no idea what they are doing because of poor training and are expected to produce "gourmet burgers". Wouldn't recommend working here. Food is good but everything besides that is awful. What a terrible place to work.

overall i personally learnt good experience from this job, but i was experiencing from management that they blew employees off, didn’t treat people with full respect they deserve, chose not to train certain employees that deserved to learn and showed interest in wanting to learn more. underpaid everyone working there. lack of wage raises for the duties being taken on. upper management was never present. met many good people working there that contributed to my good experience at the workplace. i personally believe skill and initiative i showed was not matching up with the amount i was getting paid which made me leave. job could be pretty stressful at times.

I love working at Nuburger. I have worked there for a couple of years as a server and it is a great job! My favourite part of working for Nu is the team atmosphere. It really is a work hard play hard kind of mentality. From servers to cooks to dishwashers to managers, we all like to have fun while we're working. 

The tips are also surprisingly good considering we are not a full service restaurant, AND the hours are great because we aren't open too early or too late. 

I also love that because it is a local restaurant and not a franchise, the things I do really matter and actually affect how the restaurant functions. This is really evident with the way managers do things, we are lucky to have great managers/owners. 

Overall I'd give Nuburger a 10/10

All management cares about is making sure the owners are happy. Not many people will pick up a shift and management won’t come in and help you so a lot of the time it’s late nights because you’re missing someone who’s supposed to be working. There’s no work life balance, the time you need off or the days you’re unavailable make them not want to schedule you. They want you to be available 24/7 and pick up shifts and will only consider you a team player if you pick up someone else’s shifts. I did not enjoy my time there. Tips were decent but one owner got a huge chunk when they were never there to help out. They could have been more accommodating but if you’re in highschool it’s a good job but you will stay late on closes 

Get paid very little for the amount of work you put in, tips are terrible. Management is very rude, inconsiderate, and unprofessional. Very immature, if you ask to be cut they’ll keep you longer, and if you ask for more hours you will get less. Don’t get any recognition for hard work, but rather always get put down for any mistakes that are made. Staff is “divided” into very obvious groups of new and old employees who are closed off and are not welcome of anyone else, this group includes managers which means if they don’t like you they’ll just get rid of you without any warning or reason. very non friendly environment to be a part off and a terrible place to work.

it was an alright work environment. it got pretty toxic towards the end tho because the boss would always come in a grumpy mood more than half the time and i  mean GRUMPY. Brings everyone down with him. the pay was terrible for the amount of work i did and hours put in. line cooks at other jobs were making more than me and i was assistant manager. good food but terrible place to work.

A typical day at work is very interactive and fun. The job culture is to be friendly and outgoing to anyone and everyone. I have learned to multi-task in a fast pace environment but enjoy the workplace while doing so. I love the fast pace environment and I absolutely learn something new everyday because of it.

There wasn't really a choice between getting a higher hourly wage or an incredibly hard to negotiate salary. In the end I felt like there was not enough support or action from manager recommendations.

This is a wonderful place to work  - great food great atmosphere - really enjoyed (almost) every shift .......... I should have stayed 

Good management and local owners who really know what they are doing !
