I will 1st start off and say Nutrafarms is a great company with a fantastic product. This company is the perfect company to work for as a young person gaining experience in direct sales for a future career while still living at home with limited expenses.This position will be a job and would be very tough turning it into a full-time career.
I did this job many many years ago well before NFarms. I did well back then but when I worked with this company for extra money,the negatives all came back to me from years past.
In today's world,families are so much smaller and women are in the workplace so therefore,cooking habits have changed (some don't know how to cook),or no time to cook. Fast food has drastically changed the landscape of home cooking which is sad because people are getting sick because of this.Workplaces are demanding more hours from their employees limiting time and energy to cook but also both husband and wife have a little extra money to eat out when they are both working.
The other problem this industry has is many people do not eat red meat or very little. They also don't have a freezer for a truck load of food.Some will tell you that when they have a bad financial month,they will eat cheaper meats and when they do well,they might go out and buy a nice steak to cook or go to a steak house. They don't want to be paying monthly charges to eat steak or other food products.

Nutrafarms advertises 364 days of the year same ad,but sometimes different headlines to hide this fact. They say 70K a yr,80K a yr,120K a yr.If this was correct,in todays economy,there would be line ups around the corner to work there. You know how successful you will be when you see sales ads constantly. It is obviously a revolving door where very few are successful.
Too bad because they are great people and have great product even tho they have competition.
The hardest part of the job is convincing people to finance their food.
Most enjoyable part is the satisfaction of people commenting how beautiful the quality..

Nutrafarms is an excellent family that supports its workers and has a great atmosphere, however it is very different when out in the streets. You face constant rejection, and many people are quite rude or mean. Pay is also unreliable. You may make $200 one day in 4 hours and $0 the next. The turnover rate is very high, people constantly are hired and leave because it is too difficult. Getting hired is not hard, staying is very hard. Your pay also depends on the people that follow your leads. You get a lead, then someone has to call it to confirm, then a salesperson goes to the house and tries to squeeze through the door and give a sales pitch for 15+ minutes. If the person answering the phone or the salesperson messes up, it costs you money. Your income is almost entirely dependent on their competence, rather than only your own. (Not to mention your sales are much less because noone wants to be bothered 3 times by a sales company when they can be bothered once or twice instead.) Similarly you have no way of knowing that the amount of sales they say they got is legitimate. They work on an honour system. They will run your leads while you are out working and will tell you how many got you money when you get back. However this means they could easily save the company money and say you got $45 when you actually got $90 worth of sales, because there is no way for you to know or contest it. They have a trick for newcomers as well. For the first 2 months you are paid $15 per hour or your commission, whichever is higher. What they don't tell you is that the $15 per hour is a draw FROM FUTURE commission. So if they pay you $60 as an hourly rate, you lose $60 later from any commission you bring in. This can stack indefinitely, but they will usually fire you if they pay you $200 more than your commission. I made quite a bit of money however most others did not.

People and Product make this job enjoyable . The business design tailored to those with income levels exceeding the min wage employee and there is no salary. The bonus structure vs sales is designed so poorly that a trap occurs where you work extra shifts to possibly be paid 0 dollars for a week or more pending on location of Canvassing and the expectations of people . 

It should almost be a slam dunk purchase for customers who are just over whelmed and unprepared for the education and financial commitment . Where some can't afford it and some who can choose pizza and grocery store quality meat  convenience over healthy living for there family . 

Its a dissatisfying job when you know a family needs it and you can't sell as they are struggle with issues well beyond food. Learn they throw out 500 bucks of food in a year . do weekly pizzas of 40 bucks totalling 2000 bucks but then a price tag for nearly 200 meals of 4000 bucks with a freezer 18 month warranty on food and 3 prices locks. Some people are just too over whelmed with numbers. Future employees have to learn every aspect of Canadian Farming to be successful in a weekly job of education where they must learn wild caught fish vs farmed . Types of Salmon of Sockeye and Salmon.

Problems of what is fed to Animals that people are eating . 

Its exhausting amount of schooling and work that can pay less then min wage. 

The structure of the sales contract between Client and Rep is the single greatest failure to the company leading to a high turn over in sales reps and lowered sales .

Overall I like this job, Coworkers are nice, and I can chose my hours, however, I don't like the lack of any real training, and I like less not having total control over how well I do. 
Typical day involves heading to the office, getting a ride to the location you'll be canvassing with your coworkers, then just going door to door, saying your short pitch trying to set appointments for people to receive free beef samples. How well you do largely depends on what area you are doing, if the right people are home, and if the sales guy does his job well. 
Not to say there isn't any skill involved, there is, but I have honestly found that regardless of my approach, most people have made up their minds before they even open the door. Again, being coherent with your pitch, outgoing, and polite will definitely make a difference, if you have good area and sales team to start with. 
When starting you will receive a form outlining in no specific way what the company does and how you can earn promotion, but if you don't have a background in sales I wouldn't start with the canvassing, just apply right for sales, as there is no depth to the training, all it is, is learning your pitch. 
By far the best part of this job is the lack of commitment it takes. Chose your hours, and just walk around for a few hours, it's honestly pretty relaxing unless you're in a bad neighborhood.

Super disorganized, horrible communication between management, sales team, canvassers and call centre. Barely any training or support system. Management misleads all the employees which is why the turnover is so high and this job alert has never been taken off indeed. 

Gave it a shot, here is my experience:
-often times waited 30-60 minutes between leads to go to a house where they just wanted a sample or both spouses weren’t home etc... 
-management encourages shady sales pitches that mislead consumers into purchasing
- sold 6 packages in the time I worked and all of the customers cancelled before the purchase went through because management encourages closing sales even when the customers are unsure. 
- management is so disorganized they don’t even know who is coming for interviews and for which position they are interviewing for.
-preached about flexibility of hours and then was expected to work at least 5 days a week and could not go home if there were no leads. 

Not sure why it is listed as $60000-$100000 a year salary, not a single person on the sales team was making even $30000

I learned, I should have worked for two months then quit.

management was terrible at first disorganized/unfair area placement/always late but it recently underwent some changes things running in a much better state nowadays.

co-workers are fine but most don't last long job has high turn over rate due to income uncertainty/ plus the door-to-door sales guys scammer scum stigma attached

hardest part of the job; 
watching the sales team bomb on or drop your leads. as it results in you working for free. 
they only pay you commission after 2 months for "runs" and no bonus if that "run" turns into a "sale".

 example -
so say 2 months in you have a terrible week or two and you get few or no "runs" 
you end up the chump a walking billboard advertising for practically free.

outside walking talking to people job is very easy.

Living in a remote area I've seen every MLM there is. Nutrafarms is no different. They will tell you how they are overwhelmed with leads and need more sales staff to handle them. How you can expect to make 100k a year. That the company does all these amazing trips and all the sales staff drive high end cars. The reality of the situation is you will sit in front of your computer for hours each day talking to people who honestly don't have a clue why they are talking to you. You will be asked questions you can't answer  (what the price per pound is, what they are getting in their order etc). Then when you bring it up with management they will tell you to sell harder (whatever that means) then all of a sudden you get no leads...although I talked to a few other reps and they all say they get no leads either...then you get told to sell your family and friends and use your social media to sell- how embarrassing!!!

The latest information I can find is the company is looking to dissolve so I would be cautious as getting paid will be an issue

A product that is Fantastic and meets the needs of the vast majority of Canadians is limited to the Ontario region for sales due to limited Quantity , The inability to sell commercial deals makes it idea for the consumer to buy a bulk order that includes a freezer with a 3 year price lock. 

The model its self needs improvement to ensure a constant turnover in staff is not met but making policies and procedures simpler to understand for staff and customers alike. 

The staff of ethical highly dedicated individuals makes every meeting a privilege of possibilities to learn what is currently happening in the market place including recalls on products and what is happening local and globally with meat. The education of a meeting is enough to have the job for two weeks as you learn the risks associated with buying meat at a grocery store and freezing it.

Employment advertisement false, $15/h for week long training then company leverages your future sales against them breaking even? so if you didnt break even during your training they pay you nothing to work until you've hit the quota, basically 100% commission.

Assigned locations not researched! they'd often send us to a neighborhood where their product isn't viable.(eg. Trying to sell standard beef to Halal or Kosher families)

Owner would often assign unfulfilled leadership duties in haste because of disorganization, the sales team was incredibly disorganized as a result. 

Levied commissions and shortened hours left most looking for other employment.



+ Fellow door to door employees were very friendly and positive for the most part regardless of their treatment.

This company need a complete overhaul. From management, to hiring methods, to product. 

Customers are forced to buy $4000 packages that are lucky to include 160lbs of meat. If the customer complains about the lack of volume the company will dock the rep $300+. 

They claim to be all natural and free range. The fact is they have very little connection with "local" farms. Most meat is bought in bulk from a large meat cutter and repackaged. 

Work life balance is terrible. You will be working 6-7 days a week. 10-13 hours a day to mininum. You will also be expected to answer all emails at ALL hour no matter what your situation is. 

You do not get to keep your customers. Reorders are redistributed to Managers to pad their wallets.
