What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The most stressful part of working with the company is that when I started, it was all fine and great and I loved it, as soon as a bunch of new rules kept being put in place and a new "quota" was put in place, it was really hard to meet that quota and they didn't seem to care if you were reaching it or not even if you were making 200+ calls a day.  Lots of yelling from sales teams when there was no proper sound barrier so customers could hear them screaming when you were on the phone with them making it impossible to do anything with that customer.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It is a very strange work environment, not like super high school group like but also not very welcoming depending on who you talk to. Also if you mess up once it seems to shift the relationship and they are just different with you.

Giving it a 3-star because i knew what i was getting into. Working in sales isn't for the weak; if you don't have any kind of past experience in automotive sales, you will struggle. Great place to gain new experience, but you will be under constant pressure. In a nutshell, automotive sales is very rewarding when sales are good, but the moment you are struggling to meet expectations, you will lose your job. Opportunity to make money is VERY high, but because of the company's work ethic, it has gained a very bad reputation in the industry, and trying to find buyers has become difficult. Side Note: There is no such thing as a perfect job. If it feels like a dream, then the moment revenue is down, you'll likely lose your job. Always remember, "if you're making them money = you're important." That's all I have to say. Good Luck to potential future employees at O'Brians 

Want to get your foot out the door for car sales experience? This is the place! Like the ad says, it's not for regular hours. It's not for the faint of heart. But that's sales! 

Prepare to call, call, and call some more! There will be pressure to always break your personal records. But if you can sell them 5 cars a month, you're in the good books. 

The money is good. The long hours are a bit discouraging if you got a family life, but in the end it'll help pay bills for sure.

I've also seen it myself. Get good, do a little brown-nosing, and you could be making 3-8k a month. I didn't stick around long enough to find out, but from what I seen, the cheques do get fat.

I was hired to start on a Tuesday, the next day they let me go. I wasn’t enthusiastic enough, I had no idea what I was doing. The first day Tuesday the system wouldn't let me on to do my training, Wednesday I finally get to do my system training. Then after that they expected me to phone and get applications. The phone on the desk I was given was broken, I brought this up to the assistant manager, his response, I don’t have time to deal with this.  There was no training to help me succeed in this career. The manager and assistant manager failed me in my career. I highly recommend not applying at this place of employment.

Thanks to O'Brians I was able to build a great career and life for my family and since then have been paying it forward to new hires, by helping them learn and succeed to reach their long term life goals.

It's competitive workplace, friendly environment, and fast paced.  I love working there and have been with them 6 years. 
Management was easy to work, of course sometimes are tough too.
Concise and timely communication, help to keep everyone in the loop of outstanding, and completed tasks.
Nice culture, and great boss, who understands employees' difficulties, and gives as much help as possible

In this "sales job" you are basically just a call center operator. They dont let you go home until you have called 80 people that day and have at least 3 applications. You are paid to harrass people. You get yelled at ALOT because people are sick of calls from you. When you do make a sale it goes to the managers to follow it through. Not to mention when you call people that have purchased through the company you get yelled at some more because they were sold a garbage vehicle. Save yourself the stress and dont work for this company.

O'Brians is great company to work for. They care about their employees and customers and have grown in size and ideologies since I first joined. Car Sales is not an easy gig, especially with helping customers with credit hiccups, but once you've been with them for a couple months and got over the initial shock to the system, you will find your comfort zone and possibly a life-long career.

Don’t work here. Seriously. 
It was the most toxic work environment I’ve ever experienced. They will intentionally leave you out, there are cliques much like high school, and behind your back talking is outstanding. This is already a bad business that gives loans out to people who can’t afford them. 
You have to call people constantly and nag them to get a new car… you will be yelled at, cussed out and called names.
Just…. Save yourself from this place.

I never thought sales would be  for me because I thought I would have to pressure customers to buying car. But I was wrong. Yes I got pushed to call a lot of potential clients, and at first I thought it was to just sell cars. My opinion changed when I saw how the general manager treated customers .. he is really smart and helped some of my friends out with his finance experience. Not a job for me. But I’ll buy a car from him
