Working at oldcastle was great ,my day starts with being punctual and having all my ppe and also my workmates once Everyone has reached the work area /department we will have a toolbox talk outlining how will approach the start the end and Any issues throughout the day .I’ve learned a lot from my workmates and management as well they inspire you to be better and there is always the opportunity to be promoted and learn new skills with training from workshops set up by management the culture is great everyone is always welling to help and keep you focus on the task at hand ,the hardest part about the job is troubleshooting or finding new ways to be more efficient, the most enjoyable part of the job is be safe and hitting your targets that management  set it give you a sense of accomplishment 

The overall work culture is good. The work is steady with minimal challenges, but you need to deal with a lot of old machinery, some of which are not really up to job expectations. 
The benefits are okay; the health insurance is good enough but you have to pay for it, and there's an RRSP matching program which is not bad. The work environment is decent, but it's an old facility, meaning the lunchroom and washrooms are not really adequate, which has been one of the major complaints over the years.

Generally speaking, you have a somewhat secure job: get it done and you’ll have no issues. However, don't expect much in return, such as bonuses, rewards, or promotions.

- Prep our air pressurizing hoses around our work area
- Pick up a full set of a frame to assemble back in our work area
- Use ethanol to clean designated parts of the frame and set up parts of the frame to silicone and screw on together.
- Silicone joints and screws to seal any areas that moisture may leak through and cause issues.
- Help out co-workers if asked for help to move completed frame.

- Hardest part would be tooling silicone to fully seal parts of the frame.
- Most enjoyable part is working with the Assembly team, great guys and very friendly crowd.

This company is a big Multinational however management ran it like a small family business. Low wages which will not be reviewed. Performance reviews not on time. A lot of turnover especially newer people you can see as they are always looking for people sometime masking identity as Oldcastle or CRH(parent company). Still in business because of big Multinational behind but losing out to newer companies but competition does not offer full range of products which buys this company time. I do not recommend for any minority as the management is VERY biased.


this is a worst place to work as management keep their eyes closed due their supervisors and operators on the floor got liscence to kill as per their personal liking and dislikings. This place is a wonderfull place for lazy and less hard working people as they will get the most easy work to do ..and the worst for the hard working and dedicated people as they will be doing all hard jobs and company will keep on overloading hard working people with the same pay as the lazy people doing easy jobs.
so if your are a hard working guy dont ever think about going there..if you are a lazy and only time killer then its the perfect place for you.

They don't care about you

"Rules" that only apply to certain people

Management is horrible, red hats sit in the office and do nothing all night.

Zero recognition, management only quick to place blame, or magically enforce rules that your direct supervisor or the plant manager(real see you next tuesday) didn't say a single word to you about for years.

Horrible pay for the job, "raises" are a complete joke, the new general manager is a complete joke

Good work place, good company, you learn a lot from technical managers, they allow for flexible working hrs. supportive colleagues, work load varies depends on the project deadlines. the room of the improvement in term of salary / position is very slim, and this is the only disadvantage in this company. overall OBE is great company to work with.  

This is very poor company to work for, management is horrible, environment is toxic. There is lot of gossip on the floor. The guys that have been there a long time are very commanding. There is not enough workers to the job. Leadhands are very deceiving and has malicious intent,

worst company to work for. They don't care about their employees. They give you the run around when your entitled to a raise. They keep boxes by their toilets which discard toilet paper is kept. They know about this and do nothing. Employee concern is not a factor with this company. They like to promise you things and not to deliver. Lack of communication bottom line bad company to work for.

If you don't like working in a repetitive and busy environment that pays poorly, don't work here. 

Although the raise is given yearly, it's very cheap. You get as low as 10-50 cents only. The salary isn't even comparable to CNC Programmer position at other manufacturing companies. Very low.
