It was a good place to get your foot in the door in terms of learning the basics to help you grow in your career. Very much a family owned business with lots of favouritism. Many floor managers were extremely unprofessional or at times just very uncooperative. Outdated HRIS software and there was just an unwillingness to change or update things.  Low salary but good health/dental benefits. With the growth of the business we became burnt out , undervalued and understaffed, even after many times we would voice our concerns, we weren’t heard. If you are a new grad who wants to know the basics to add to your resume to get a better opportunity elsewhere, then this could be the opportunity for you. 

Professional coworkers and management. People are friendly and helpful. Lots of mutual respect. Like any tool shop there can be drama but if you care about your work and keep your attention there then you will fit right in. Omega will not put up with $#it. For this reason the build quality is untouched by any of the other big shops around here and for that reason we always have work. Benefits are good and the pension program is unrivalled by any non-union shop. Continental and weekend shifts are offered with fair compensation as well. The owner is always investing back into the company with new equipment to stay on top. There are too many perks to list in regards to lunches, bbq and celebrating other employees so that’s just it; of the big shops around here I believe Omega sets the bar across the board.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Very clean and well managed. Exiting place to be, very modern approach to the trade.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
As a veteran in the trade nothing work related stresses me out, Take responsibility for your work and there is nothing to worry about. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
As long as you keep your head down and get it done it is very laid back. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Comfortably busy. The days go by nicely do to a very modern atmosphere.

This company loves an employee that puts his/her job first over anything. This is fine if it is retroactively paid back to you with extra additional other then salary, but it is not.  Many times you end up feeling burnt out before arriving because of demanding nature. Upper management is great though rather uneducated. Middle management, leaders are not very helpful and if anything cause more stress. Most of the time making wrong calls knowingly because of time constraints. All in all , they will pay accordingly but be prepared to not feel appreciated and stressed. 

When starting at a new company I like to give it a chance despite gossip and negative reviews. When I worked there I found it to be like high school with co-workers continually arguing and back stabbing. Mandatory Continental shift also meant working weekends while limiting hours and overtime pay. Also if you bring up any concerns to HR or Management it only gets you lectured to and put into a spot of defending why you spoke up. This is a very "clicky" place to work so if you keep your head down, work like a drone, and don't talk to anyone you might just get through each day.

Very stressful place to work.  They commit to unattainable deadlines and then when they're not met, it's the blame game.  Lower level management/engineers think they're better than everyone else, mutter under their breath as they walk away.  Quick to throw anyone under the bus to get ahead.  Lie to management constantly to make themselves look better.  I have never had a more stressful job.  Always wondering if it will be the day I get walked out.  I don't recommend working here.  

Managers are caring and always willing to teach you if you show initiative in learning. You will always be busy/doing something. All the employees are great to work with and very helpful. Always try your hardest and never be afraid to ask for help. There is endless opportunities to grow and they have the most state of the art equipment. They are not afraid of spending money to innovate. 

If you have any sense of self respect working at omega will crush your soul, the management top to bottom have no respect for there employees you’re treated like a second class citizen, wages are terrible and if you don’t negotiate a high starting wage… good luck. Easily the most stressful and depressed time in my life. If you get hired on here, leave.

I was young in the trade as a general machinist. I had always grew fast with a company and strived for higher and got bumped up. The only issues I had was I was stuck working nightshift and there were never anyone to help when stuck in a difficult position. Excellent learning experience for cnc controllers and powermill software

Alot of groups.Hard to become accepted.employees very opinionated on coworkers.pretty much bullied to work too many hours.very demanding environment.Health and safety is lacking.very heavy constant lifting eye bolts components etc.management is very poor.Bad moral.
