This is a very odd company in that it’s their goal to never actually see or speak to their store operators. All communication is by fax and email. Over more than three years, no one called to ask how I was doing. As long as there were no problems, I was never contacted. Training was rudimentary and never reinforced. Store staff tend to ignore you as well. It’s almost like you want to break a rule just to get mom’s attention. Once the sales and repair work is mastered, there’s a lot of tedious downtime to burn.

Training only takes a few days and it's not difficult to learn. 
Very similar to retail. 
Managers are usually in BC only but do visit once in a while, which can be good and bad.
If it's busy and there's no one else to cover for you, you can miss your breaks.
Usually either really dead or super busy. Not often in the middle. 
Most coworkers have been pretty good and most of the Bay staff are friendly.
Don't get sick though. 


I loved every day working here, my days would consist of coming in and opening everything up and waiting for customers to arrive that needed help with anything. I learned the technical side of watch and jewelry repair which ive used in my day to day life fixing issues with anything i may have. Management was the best i have ever had and are honestly amazing people.

If you want to work for a company that doesn't give raises (including cost of living) doesn't offer any benefits AND will work you 12 hours a day with no help/cover because they won't hire extra staff.....then this is the company for you!! And you better not get sick either!!

It's retail pay and retail hours (influenced by the Bays operational hours). But you couldn't ask for better management at all levels. Certain locations are exceptionally busy while some are very slow. As a result the work environment and stress levels vary. Great job if you like working with your hands.

You will go no where with this company and will not be valued and is a burn out job with out support of management and owner you are replaceable and dont get sick ever .there dont look after there staff and don't value them. 

Never thought I'd learn how to change watch batteries - every day is different with lots of variety - great team energy - this is a very interesting job and I enjoy coming to work every day.

Great company to work for. Opportunity to gain technical skills and great customer service experience. Friendly team to work with. Steady pay raise opportunity.
