The people here are great and it is a lovely open-concept office. The hours are also good, and there are some nice benefits. However, upper management does not seem to be interested in maintaining talent. Academic publishing is admittedly not a super-lucrative field, but wages for entry-level roles barely cover cost-of-living expenses in Toronto. The company has such a rich history and lots of future potential, but climbing your way up from the bottom of the ladder might not be worth your time.

Good place to work. The organization as a whole is trying to move toward digital content as a delivery system for their mostly print-based assets. I gained a lot of exposure into how Digital can work with Print in terms of production and gained valuable insight into that type of workflow. The transition is slow, but more personnel are embracing Digital mediums.

This is a great position for entry level sales people who are very curious and interested in working with customers who are the top minds in their field.  You learn something new each and every day.
It is a challenging industry that shrinks every year but is on the cusp of a seismic shift in practice. Great work-life balance.

nice for work and having flexible time period. You can get chance to cover your hours if you had short hours for any reason. friendly  environment and dealing with books which is great.

Very good relationship with freelancers, clear briefs and prompt payments. Relatively bureaucracy-free, unlike many other publishers. Have had a good relationship with OUP for many years. 

Good place to work.  Lot's of flexibility as most work is done from home.  There is significant travel involved but that depends on which month of the year.

Salary is largely based on meeting sales target

I have really enjoyed learning opportunities at OUP. I have been given various projects at the start of my career here and enjoy the authority I have here.

It has a fun workplace.
They are tight on deadlines but the targets are seasonal based.
The expextency in salary is not competitive. Helpful memberS and managers
