I've worked for terrible companies and I've worked for excellent companies. Pagnotta felt like a good company (4/5). Work was for the most part ten hour days Monday to Thursday with an 8 hour Friday and 5 hour Saturday. Of course weather and schedule sometimes played a factor with some early off days and some being longer than 10 hours. Overall I thought everyone was very friendly and wanted to see me learn and excel. Lots of good challenging work if you can prove you're competent  as well as some pressure that can either be motivating or annoying depending on your personality. I sometimes felt like the office and the field were a little out of touch with each other and I think that's something the company should put some more effort into. Not all managers are the same for this company too. On one site I was very happy with who I worked for and felt respected but on another I felt very expendable and talked down to. Communication is also sometimes an issue with some managers to the point where they would skip weekly toolbox safety meetings and morning briefings, have the rigging crew and the crane being poorly used, and I had some times where I was just standing around with a group of journeymen waiting for something to do while the foreman would just be pretending to read the prints.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Parted on bad terms, company went into a very long stretch of poor management and field staff decline. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Safety nearly ceased to exist, workers were put into harms way without proper education and protections. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Unhealthy. 

Supervisors ignore shortfall in skills and push work and schedule onto the few competent remaining carpenters. schedule/ production was the priority, safety and planning took back seat. Supervisory teams were formed through nepotism
Not competency. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
10-14hrs typical duration of the project. Frequently jobs were bid with OT required as per of the regular working week.

Pagnotta Industries Inc. is a great company to work for, thy gave many opportunities to advance in any direction.

I worker for Pagnotta for 11 years where I went from a Labourer to a materials driver to a carpenter to a carpenter foremen and finally a safety officer.

Pagnotta supported me in the decision to move around within the company and they provided and paid for all training.

Pagnotta has become the "GO TO" concrete construction company for many clients who need their residential high rises built on time and on budget.

High paced, educational, excellent Carpenters. Long hours good pay good management. Form work for pile caps, footings, grade beams, and slab on grade with void form, curbs, slab edge, shear walls, columns, beam sides and tables. Erecting, stripping and dismantling various types of scaffolding systems for underside of slab and tables, and helping on pour days for concrete with vibrating the columns and shear walls. I also used various types of lasers and hand tools to plumb, level, square and shoot in elevations.

White hats are telling you different things, communication is wacky and they need to learn to become better leaders . Work/ life balance suck because they want to take on more then they can handle and us workers have to pay for it. We want to spend time with our famlies too. 530 day is LONG ENOUGH , also I feel like I'm under paid which is an issue here at Pagnotta . 

Family enviroment, management cares about all levels of employees. 

Fast paced, physically demanding work enviroment. Working in the elements year round; outside is where i like to be so i find it enjoyable, but some days the weather can get to you. 
Internal advancement and training is there but you have to push to receive it, not too often it is just given. Pursue your goals, dont just expect it to come to you. Lots of room for advancement if you have the drive and initiative to pursue it.

Lots of work available at the time. The project we worked required 15 hour days not including travel time  The management could have looked out for its employees better during this project. However overall it was a decent company to work for. Pay was ok. At times when the pressure was on it was always the same few employees that pulled there weight, others disappeared. But that’s with any job at any company. Advancement opportunities available.

Just learning  new system and finding parking

The atmosphere was good day in and day out. Everyone is a team payer and gets the job done properly and efficiently. Managing a crew is great when your workers have the right attitude. Each day was a learning curve and there was always room for new ideas and the opinions f others to help get the job done.
