The money was good and I liked the upper management

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
They don't communicate very well near the end of a job. They hired ALOT of people not qualified for their positions in the name of diversity, this put alot of pressure on those with the experience to pick up the slack for them

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The culture was about as far left as you can imagine.  People were frustrated alot because foreman were hired based on their friendships rather than experience and abilities. It's more of a who you know and who you do blow with company than are you dependable and qualified.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Digging ditch, shoring the ditch, feed pipe in, hold for weld, backfill

A typical day at work involved a lot of overlapping meetings and no conclusions. Learning on the job is an everyday must. Management is always back tracking and they will not put anything in writing. Culture is not friendly to women in non traditional workplace situations and you will get no support from HR. The hardest part of the job other than long hours was the interview process... HR is inexperienced and most are hospitality or healthcare workers  calling themselves  "Acquisition Specialists". HR is obviously their gig job and they are not good at it - don;t return calls or emails and they take a lot of time off.  Best part of the job is the pay cheque

Extensive training and solid mentoring.
Leaders in quality and production with priority given to worker safety and injury prevention
Safe work.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Lastinute changes with little to no communication.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Excellant crews, strong culture of safety.
Supervisors tend to look out for self and leave crews to fend for themselves.


What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Meeting pre shift with gear on ready to go, dropped at site and begin work

I’ve been working on Prince Rupert, Fairview Expansion Phase 2B, They hired me as a deckhand, Then i find out after my orientation in they’re office, I am working as a Ramp operator and Labourer and the people in that project lack of planning and organise they’re crew and have a biggest issue about enviroment. 

They fired me without futher notice or anything, mostly of they’re supervisor working on marine dredging operation on that project no experience to run the whole dredging operation out there and they don’t care about the marine enviroment. The best kind of supervisor i ever seen in my whole life. 😂

What is the best part of working at the company?
Pay cheques never bounce and always on time. 
Great equipment and well maintained machines.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Like a lot of large companies, there can be a serious lack of communication between departments at a field level. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Safety is major with these guys, although they don't always practice what they preach. 
Work environment is typical of construction work.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Every day is a new challenge to work at. Good and bad days.

Not sure how the company is overall or if my experience will actually be typical, because my experience at Kiewit was a large success based largely on the crew of guys I was fortunate to work with and the support and competence of my immediate supervisors. 

The wage was competitive, there were rewards for safety, crew of the month, etc.  Materials were generally available and on time, work maintained a good pace, not rushed.  Documentation/prints were mostly available.  Overall good experience

I can not think of any good parts of working here

Well there are way too many things to list for this. The place is just one big ball of stress every part of it

It is 100% in the dumps everyone is one little mistake away from being fired and I mean forget your hard hat in your cab and your gone kind of things

Get the plan in the morning and some days changes as you go.
