If you’re “green” in the industry, or really just looking to start fresh, this is a great little place. Compared to other firms, they seem to do most things by the book which is refreshing in Personal Injury. The atmosphere is alright, staff is mostly nice, management as well, partners go overboard with the micromanaging at times like any family owned business, but overall I did have a positive experience.

Working at PIL has been a great experience so far. I was quickly welcomed with open arms and always look forward to coming into office. The staff and management team genuinely have your best interests in mind. Each day is fairly busy but that makes the days go by faster. I'm happy to tell friends and family that I work for one of the top firms in Canada.  

Disorganized, chaotic place to work.
Everyone is stressed/overwhelmed and emotional breakdowns are frequent.
Training of new employees is poor and support is nonexistent.
Office is a clique.
Colleagues are rude and belittling.
Low budget for employee appreciation.
Terrible benefits.
Low rate of pay.

Do not recommend this employer.

To be perfectly honest, I felt like a deer in headlights where I first started. However, within a few weeks I was speeding through work and balancing responsibilities like no one’s business!

Ideal for self-motivated individuals who are willing to go the extra mile every time.
Not an easy paycheck by any means, but extremely rewarding and well worth the effort imo.

Working as a legal assistant is a TON of work, however you make very good money doing it, and people are willing to help you if needed. It’s a good learning experience too.

HR department is not helpful. Work bullies, demeaning behavior by coworkers, favortizim. They treat you as a body and you don't feel part of the firm.

Enjoyable place to work. Positive and productive work environment. Competitive compensation. Equipped with all the tools to get the job done. Exceptional management.

-No shortage of work due to the high volume of clients we get calling in
