What is the best part of working at the company?
Absolutely. The most caring accommodating trauma informed and progressive company i've ever been involved with.  Neecheewam maintains indigenous culture protocols, respect ' and implementation of traditions to the epitome of the teachings . Strong and respected leaders share and try every venue to accommodate their staff and participants with balance , holistic wellness , and come from a place of servitude. This isn't just a company, this is a family... Who leave nobody behind and work endlessly to protect the population working for.... For the future of our children, for the future of ourselves for the future of our communities, neecheewam strive to continue growing to provide the best service possible to follow me's children's and staff.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The only stressful part
Of working at the company, there's god forbid having to leave for personal reasons

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work culture, it is about connection ro one another'. Team effort Team building and always come together when times get hard to work together to problem solve

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day for me was enjoying the company of beautiful people. Everyday amazing participants was endless potential that we are honored to have a small part to play and fostering that ❤️ well, being one hundred percent encouraged by our leaders

Every day is different in youth care work, there is no typical day. I have learned a lot about myself and personal boundaries and being able to have the proper amount of empathy for the youth when necessary. Management is good. Co-workers are excellent we are all family when we work together. The hardest part of the job is working straight evenings I would like a full time days position. The most enjoyable part of the job is being able to help the kids get through their hardest moments.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The kids, staff was awful. Poorly ran organization. Kids needs were over looked.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The staff were always looking for fault with the kids.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
No very good. Mice in the homes. Kids poorly fed. Mostly kraft dinner or Mr noodles. Kids had to beg for water.

I’m a new employee here and each day brings a different experience. You are constantly being challenged in dramatic and chaotic situations. The staff you work with are very supportive to each other. Great management. Free food. Awesome place overall! I recommend working here at Neechewam. I love the kids I work with and have made my workplace a very important part of my life. Paid training.

The management team is not knowledgable, and refuse to accept feedback from those with experience.
You will find yourself working many shifts alone. And the children will be given unrealistic experiences that will never work when they return to their homes thus setting them up for failure.

I loved my pt job as a youth care worker. It was a boys home originally, but was transferred into a women's centre for troubled street girls. The need for male staff was needed anymore. My hrs were cut. I was respected a liked by my staff and management

Love working with kids? Great. 

All I did was go on outings with children, take them to museums, parks and other places during summer.

During school season, it’s all about routine & getting the kids up & ready for school.

Overall great. I really enjoyed working for Project neecheewam.

Core duties were the same daily therefore expectations and overall responsibilities were clear yet no two days were ever the same.

Always understaffed , guaranteed burn out working here

All employees are very kind and helpful!
Awesome and very inspiring to work. Everyone is accommodating and very helpful. Overall is good! Nothing to say more.
