What is the best part of working at the company?
Leaving the incompetent senior management to implode 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Having to remain silent while under qualified and  micromanaging staff demonstrates their incompetence daily

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Good people are leaving, those praying for an early death or a retirement layoff package remain

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
8 am meeting to tell the micro managing manager what colour I am feeling today, following by hours of pointless discussions, broken occasionally by trying to help real people  improve their practices

it highly depends on which political party is in. ndp, is a kinder, gentler govt both for the workers and the clients its serves. the liberals were cut throat, mean spirited, dehumanized the clients by closing most offices and centralizing in the most drug laiden , violent part of  town. most of the union people were troubled employees so that they could continue, they really didn't help me much at all. there is a lot of nepotism. mothers and daughters were hired, both incompetent. management did not have much say as the politicians drove the show.  had some really nice supervisors though, very supportive...

The benefits and work/life balance are good. However, there isn't much room for free thinking and very little autonomy. Everything must be done according to policy and thinking outside of the box is not encouraged.

I feel the environment is discriminatory and prohibitive to personal growth. If you don't agree with their policies then they make life difficult for you so you will leave.  

There are hundreds of internal jobs once you get hired which allows for movement from one role to another. 

Excellent and progressive atmosphere based on engagement, teamwork and out of the box thinking. Flexible workplace with open and honest communications.
Access to senior personnel is unprecedented who always find a way to make themselves available for opportunities and problem solving discussions.
Staff is highly adaptive to changes and are ultra dedicated to service to the people of the Province.

Any public service job has demands for the employee. Most of the jobs I worked were in Ministries where our services were required. I worked in Coroner’s  Service, Small business and Revenue and Court Services. In al cases the work was necessary, but not always well received by the public.

Excellent HR policies and practices.  Competitive salaries for most areas of the province. Stable workforce and good opportunities for workplace learning. In larger centres there are often good opportunities for promotion.

A constantly fluid work environment that challenges your skill sets, as well as your mental game. You come away with a sense of accomplishment everyday as every step or decision in your day can be crtical in overall success

Administratively heavy. Little time for client interviews. Little time for accessing the community. 
Loved working with the public however the job demands a great deal of time dedicated to filing and reports.

There's plenty of work to be done and expectations are high, but management is understanding and supportive and there are so many opportunities to grow in pretty much any direction you'd like. 

Work on hospital wards and study in classroom.
Wonderful learing experience coming straight out of high-school
