Being in the health care field can be a highly stressful and toxic place.
An employee can be overwhelmed with challenges that come ever so often, However, the company is rich in educational resources that will help you to become more successful in your field and help you deal with challenges in your job.
I am proud to say that the company fosters a great supportive environment among its team members. I would always feel valued and heard by my superiors and colleagues, and of those who may not be working directly with me but supports me from hindsight. Yes, there is a neverending list of negativity and pressure around but I choose to look and magnify ALL that was given and offered, ALL that was given consideration and provided, most of all, ALL that continues to value and support me! 

Working in Pro Vita Lynn Valley Care Center is a priveleged for me because from the start till now  I enjoyed and liked the work environment.I find them pruductive,caring,considerate and with great team work.Since I started working till now they gave us  in service lessons related to our job with certificate and with pay.They always make sure that every shift has the chance to attend it.What i also like is the way they handled  work issues and problems.So far  working in this company allows me  to gained more skills ,knowledge and taught me to  love  this job more and more and most of all the great thing with this company is they cared for our wellness ,our safety and the chance to prosper in our own field. Also they gave us the chance to  re- locate  and the chance to know  all  our co -workers by setting a party.

typical day at work- giving shift report to oncoming care staff, then making rounds before beginning to give out medications.
- Give out all morning medications, then assist care staff in feeding residents. 
-Meet with other staff for morning huddle to discuss resident conditions and prioritize.
- Follow up with physicians re:resident conditions/lab results. 
-Wound care and documentation. 
-Give lunch time medications, and again assist with feeding of residents in dining area. 
-Attending to residents as individually necessary. 
-Narcotic count and documentation. 
-Give oncoming nurse shift report. 
Best part of the job is interacting with residents and co-workers, feeling as if you're part of a team. Also constant learning opportunities.  Management is supportive and caring.

I worked at this site for 3 years. The DOC was great and so was the staff; however, worst manager ever. You have to cover your own shift and even if you find a replacement, you still weren't allowed as they need a two week notice, this also includes personal emergencies as well. When you explain this in not allowed as per you standards of practise, management would harass you. Even if you give a two week noticed you would still get bullied by the manager. The workload is crazy and there is no leniency as staff is worked till they clean the floors. To conclude, if you don't care about nursing and are only in it for the money then work here otherwise look somewhere else.

The staffing here is so poor they expect you to work overtime almost every shift. Cannot call in sick they will pretty much force you to come in. Management is unreliable and provide no support to employees. Overall terrible experience as a new grad. Wish my first job was in a more supportive environment, greatly disappointed & I don’t recommend anyone to bother applying here especially as a new grad. Also the educators are not nice, was pretty much forcing me to work a shift stating that I am a casual for provita and am “expected to pick up shifts.” Which sounds absurd to me as a casual I am not obligated to pick up all shifts. 

My experience was both on the facility stand point as well as the company/contract stand point.

The facility standpoint was not good. The stress was almost unbearable some days .

On the company standpoint, it was great. I had never felt such support ever with a company. I felt like I could always ask questions and that my managers were willing to listen. My boss was extraordinary when it came to listening, even if I was very upset. She took the time to understand and then took the steps to fix it. If my contract didn’t end, I would absolutely still be working for the company without second thought. Given the opportunity, I would go back. 

Benefits and vacation provided is the best I’ve had. 

A typical day at work is fast paced, upbeat and informative. Learning new and challenging things every day and showing production and achievement at the end of the day. Meeting and working with new people and being a part of a team environment. The hardest part would be the termination process, but knowing that sometimes it is necessary and knowing the policies make it a little easier. The most enjoyable experience is walking away at the end of the day knowing that I accomplished all tasks and met all deadlines and was able to ensure that staff were taken care of.

Communication with management is clear, timely, and responsive, ensuring that concerns are addressed and families are kept well informed. The facility follows a well structured and systematic care plan, with individualized approaches that are regularly reviewed and updated to meet residents’ evolving needs. Overall, the commitment to continuity of care, teamwork, and consistent quality standards contributes to a positive long-term care experience.”

Horrid staffing level (only 2 staff on days)
Lacking essentials for care 
Language barrier with staff (predominantly foreign workers)
Make 4-6 seniors per floor get up between 5-7am every morning due to lack of day staff
Impeccably maintained by other branches of their umbrella cooperation (Westcana) and food provided by Westcana as well. Casuals provided by Care at Home which is also under their umbrella.
They are a private-for-profit company in it for the money. 
You will be paid way under unionized sites

There is a conflict between the care manager and the care coordinator, leading to a communication gap between them. As a result, middle staff such as nurses often face difficulties in managing responsibilities and expectations. Management tends to listen more to care aides than to nurses, which creates an unbalanced and frustrating work environment. This has led to a poor and unhealthy workplace culture. I have personally experienced humiliation, poor treatment, and bullying from management. Overall, this has been a very distressing and mentally traumatic experience for me.
