Manage your expectations when you arrive. You will get a lunch, two paid coffee breaks and a clean and modern office to work in. As for stimulating or challenging work that depends on whether your Manager is not hoarding the information from you or only giving you the tasks that he or she does not want to do. The policies are constantly changing so you need to be flexible and always watch your back. There is high turnover. Many people who live in the area are happy to work there as it is close to their home. Many people who cross the bridge every day are looking for a better workplace.

The experience that I gained for my first job in the Federal Government

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Having to work onsite.  I am a person with a disability and require accommodations wherever I go.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Excellent when I was working at home.  

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I organized my day as I was asked.

Learning and professional development are a priority in this Ottawa-Gatineau office.  Strong management skills at all levels.  A rare occasion to learn about work performed throughout the federal public service and in a wide variety of settings.

The PSC is a great place to work at. There are career advancement opportunities, the organization values diversity and inclusion, respect and collaboration. They also provide very good work-life balance. Would recommend to anyone.

A very positive experience. I WOULD work there again at anytime. The process of getting in was through a recruiter. I was paid promptly. I also felt that this was an equal opportunity employer, that was important for me.

Good place to work. If you have a family and want to have a balance work/family lifestyle this is a good place to be. Before pandemic, working at the office was nice as this is a fairly new building. Now, no issues working remotely.
