Your experience will depend on the department and supervisor you have. Overall, the job itself is not bad but some supervisors try to make it suck.
You work with insulation so you will get itchy and will have dust in your eyes if you work certain forklift jobs.  The work environment can be toxic with uneven distribution of work.
There is a lot of favoritism, for example, promotions are supposed to be based on seniority and skill but that is usually ignored unless the union puts its foot down which does not happen often. No room for advancement.


The jobs available are decent jobs! The pay is too good to leave. I do enjoy the challenges that arise occasionally.

However, work-life balance does not exist. If you have a job that requires more than just pushing brooms, you can leave feeling exhausted and defeated. Daily!  The hours also don't promote the ability to feel fulfilled outside of work... working every other weekend, or working nights means you miss out on a lot of things with family/friends or extracurricular activities.

Management doesn't have a clue how the floor operates. There's no support. Lots of guilt-tripping or favouritism. They don't invest in their people. There is no consistency across shifts or departments. And the fact they hire anybody means the culture can be quite toxic, hard to create bonds within the teams, leaving most people feeling isolated

ROCKWOOL is a relatively stable company with a solid position in the building materials industry. The work environment is generally professional, and the team is supportive and cooperative. There are clear processes in place, which helps with day-to-day operations and learning. The company also places a strong emphasis on safety and sustainability, which is reflected in its business and culture.

However, like many traditional manufacturing companies, there can be some limitations in terms of flexibility and career progression. Communication across departments could be improved, and decision-making can sometimes be slow.

Overall, it is a decent place to gain experience, especially for those interested in operations, manufacturing, or industrial environments.

A typical day is busy. There is always something to do. The day goes by fast; but time flies when you're having fun!

Colleagues are great, and they make every day enjoyable. There is a sense of belonging and a shared purpose.

I learned a lot of valuable job skills during my time here at ROCKWOOL. The company is truly invested in their employees; it's a great feeling to know that we are set up to win.

Management is encouraging and empowers us to make decisions; there is a continuous learning and growth mindset. 

The hardest part of the job is meeting KPI's; however that is true of any job - and it's especially important in sales.

The most enjoyable part of the job is the camaraderie with fellow colleagues. The company culture is awesome!

The hours the 3 on 3 off and switching day to night every 3 days

Fast paced, and helpful friendly people 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day was fast paced but slow on some lines . You get to move around a lot which helped make the day go faster , lots of variety of movement but repetitive as well . It was a clean environment but hot in summer, and then cold in some areas in the winter

My team was absolutely incredible. They were the nicest most hard working people I've ever had the pleasure of working with. 

With that said, be prepared to wear many, many hats and for the stress of everyday work. My team kept the company afloat and without them, the company would sink. There are way too many incompetent departments that get away with doing the bare minimum while my team had to make up for their slack. 

All in all though, I would 100% recommend this place for someone just starting their career. You will learn so much! 

Fair pay and benefits the job is relatively easy. You won't move up if you don't look the part. European company that prefers people that look... European. If you look the part or wear tights to work you can bypass probation and receive PMO or lead hand training. Visible minorities will have to work a few years before maybe getting that opportunity. If you don't know the union rules you will get played.

Hot, dirty and unsafe. It’s all about the numbers. Bullying is very bad

12 hour shifts are good. Working, cleaning, sweeping, recycling

Decent Pay with good benefits. Its definitely hard to work 12 hours shift sometimes with no breaks! Management is much better compared to other places. Company will make sure you are equipped with all the required tools and PPE for the job. Little dominance of outside contractors though since majority of tradesman are outside contractors. For someone who is willing to work hard and doest really care about social life can definitely apply at Rockwool.
