Really helped me hone my skills and allowed me to continue my journey to a long career

Stressful environment- very supportive co workers from other departments when calling for help

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
 Crazy non stop action. I didn’t stop from 0730 till 5 pm when I left. In order to get the work of two done daily I would stay overtime unpaid(not in budget) to complete paperwork to make my day run smooth the next day

The only reasons I stayed is for my colleagues and the pay. The teamwork in My department was exceptional. Everyone is so helpful.

Management is poor, by means of micro-management, neglecting to address conflicts among staff, and playing favourites. Also there is very little support for furthering education. And no support for personal concerns regarding mental health. I experienced so much anxiety and stress working here. They do not consider your attempt at achieving work-life balance, and expect you to come in when they are under-staffed. The staff that do show up are expected to do 1.5-2X the amount of work, with little to no appreciation. 

Strongly Would not recommend.

Staff shortages, workload and acuity of inappropriate pts for the unit.

Work environment on the ground not is supportive and team oriented. Hospital would benefit from a restructuring of some senior management/directors. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Extremely business,  often no breaks and dealing with high acuity of care patients.

Small family atmosphere with staff. People know each other.

So many patients to see, not enough staff to support them.

Busy, everyone does the best they can, not        enough money budgeted to provide the staff needed. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Seeing as many patients as we can. 
Typical caseload 25-30 treatments for 1-2 staff

Toxicity and negative dynamics throughout the organization.

Negative, toxic and extremely stressful.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
No breaks, no support from management, no team work on unit. High nurse to patient ratios.

I was able to lead warm ups and cool downs for the patients. I monitored their exercise and took blood pressures and heart rates. I learned how to take the blood pressure and heart rates using the machines. It was very rewarding to see the progress of the individuals as they progressed through the program. My co-workers were very helpful and great people. The hardest part of the job was making up fun and exciting routines for the warm ups and cool downs that reflected the skills and ability of the different classes.

I learned a lot while I worked here and I'm gracious for the experience. However there were a lot of issues with upper management and how they trained new employees. A lot of the employees seemed very frustrated due to understaffing. The hospital itself is pretty nice - but it could use some updates but overall in general most people that work there are pretty good. Looking back it was a good experience (and I enjoyed the lab work) but at the same time I didn't enjoy working there. Just not the right fit.

Completed the scheduling/staffing process based on the appropriate collective agreement language, staffing levels and skill sets in collaboration with the department manager. Ensured that all information is entered into the scheduling system to meet the time card deadline for payroll purposes. Determined eligibility and records sick leave and other leaves, supported the Attendance Monitoring Program and maintains confidential employee records

Involved with Day Program intake referrals and facilitated day program groups. 
Provided individual case management counselling of complex clients, developing patient alerts and treatment plans using the bio-psychosocial model and crisis intervention supports.

Management receives no training in meaning anyone can manage and OB unit with no knowledge of OB care..
Nurses bully every new nurse thus no one wants to work there. 
The nurses that stay to work there dont get any training
Unit clerks dont do their part to go above and beyond thus everyone treats unit clerks like the most undeserving person to work there.
