River Island

Whilst working at River Island it was a great insight to the world of work. It gave me experience in how to deal with customer requests and to work under high demand and pressure. Management gave me criticism where needed and I took that on board. I got along with my co-workers and we all worked well as a team to keep the store looking good and running smoothly. The hardest part of the job was working long hours at demanding times, however seeing the work that we did and helping the customers was very rewarding and made the long hours worth it.

On a typical day at work (i.e a Saturday) I will have a team briefing with one of the managers giving us our targets to meet for that day. I will then be told where in the shop I will be working on today, for example, the cash desk or on the fitting rooms. We, as a team always keep in mind the customer experience from the moment they enter the shop to the moment they leave and this is plays an important part to gaining customer loyalty.
The management are great, they are open to help you with any queries or concerns you may have.

Greeting customers into the store in a warm and friendly manner
Dealing with customer enquiries online and in-store
Collecting customer store orders
Monitoring and replenishing stock
Offering assistance about current trends and in-store products
Responsible for cash management 
Working well with team members to reach targets

Every one was polite it was enjoyable every one were hard working .i spoke to customers on the floor ,fixed clothes on the floor .they were very kind and helpful if you needed a hand . All about working as a team and getting things done at a certain time .

In this job i learned that everyone is competitive in a retail job as it turns into Chinese whispers between staff. The environment isn’t as bad on the work floor but I feel like one rule worked for one than another and the staff are different when upstairs in the staff area. There is a lot of favouritism in this job role.

The grimsby branch was by far the best job i ever had i worked there part time and full time over a period of 6 years. - i only left due to graduating to become a teacher. 
the role was fantastic the staff amazing and the customers were great.

Fun workplace, with great colleagues. Management was great, always understanding of any needs/issues you may have. the only downfall that myself, or seemingly any of my coworkers have is the monthly pay.

A good, relaxed place of work with friendly management and colleagues. Working here enabled me to increase my customer service levels whilst also improving cash handling skills.

River Island is a great company to work for if you have good management. Salary is not too bad and great perks. They have a big turn over of employee’s.

I loved it only left job as moving to my partner's and now looking for a permanent job.
Nice company to work with was sad to leave but moved in with my partner
