My typical day as an industrial cleaner starts at 5:45 a.m. I arrive at work early to prepare for the day and make sure I am ready with the proper safety equipment. By 6:00 a.m., all staff members gather together for a daily safety meeting led by the team leader. During the 10-minute safety talk, we discuss workplace hazards, safety procedures, and the tasks planned for the day. After the meeting, the supervisor assigns each worker to their specific duties and work areas.

Throughout the day, I carry out cleaning responsibilities carefully and efficiently while following all safety guidelines and company procedures. I work well with my teammates and always try to maintain a positive attitude. One thing I appreciate most about my workplace is the sense of equality among employees. Everyone is treated fairly and with respect, regardless of background or position. This creates a supportive work environment where teamwork, communication, and safety are valued every day.

This company really got me. All sweet talking in training and telling you about all the perks that employees get. Lies. Either these people don't know their own contracted agreement or they don't know labour laws or they just really dislike their employees, i don't know. You won't know if you're working on the weekend until thursday evening. They have "over time equalization" that they absolutely do not adhere to. You will be micro managed all of the time. They will over staff a project and then give scold you for not working enough. They won't train you at all but you will get in trouble for doing things wrong. They also have no issue withholding pay for weeks because of an error they made. If you land a job with this company, know your rights and stand your ground. I was successful after 6 weeks of withheld wages in getting what i was owed and i had to go meet my supervisor in the parking lot at 11:30 at night for the cash. The company is run by people who never had to do the grunt work or have forgotten what it's like to be a grunt. I don't recommend long term but it's okay pay for as long as you can stand the environment. 

Robinsons Solutions is a company to stay far away from. Thier hours always change, unless your on weekend shift. Pay advancement are non existing unless move up to Supervisors. Your job changes all the time, doing multiple jobs and more put on you. Some Supervisors are pretty decent, but favorable people is a must. You never see any management out on floor, unless you are getting in trouble. One manager is completely clueless, other just play on computer all day. Most of your day is just cleaning up during line breaks and lunch, always at night you have to hurry to finish. Cut corners or don't have time to do. 
There were some decent team leaders, a few in paint department, and only two in the plastics dept on weekend that would help people out  but if you enjoy low wage most people are talking you down and getting thrown under the bus enjoy this place. The best part is you may get pizza or donut here and there, and work with students that can't understand you and just laugh at you. 

The ads and the presentation prior to interviews led me to believe that this was a professional company that required skilled employees for a challenging job. 

It is nothing more than a typical janitorial position only hot, noisy, and dangerous. Mopping the floor while watching the automotive process was the most technical it got.

It will pay more than minimum wage (or slightly above) if you can make it through your first three months. I burnt out in three weeks. They give new people all the most boring and difficult jobs. 

Staff are constantly fighting with each other--very unprofessional work environment. Childish rules and unnecessary restrictions on employee behaviour.

Best part of the job was chatting with coworkers. Lots of genuinely nice people working here.

Overall: the actual work placement is the opposite of the image management tries to portray of the company.

When I first got this job,I was so was extremely excited too start. Honestly I would have rather stayed in fast food, you get treated better then this company. They say after 480 hours you get your benefits, it took me 6 months to get them. After hounding supervisor after supervisor. They are so unorganized, and unprofessional. The supervisor’s, treated their jobs like it was high school constantly bashing employees behind their backs. It was honestly an embarrassing place too work. The higher ups except you to work every weekend overtime, the pay is not worth the effort that is put in. This company needs to go back to the Drawing board and figure out how to treat their employees with respect. Again I had a better experience working in a fast food environment, happy with my new job. I wish I had left sooner. Such a shame, please don’t waste your time. All the best on everyone’s job search.

I really enjoyed my time with Robinson Solutions. I was considered part-time, in a unionized environment at General Motors for almost three years. My position changed over the years from very flexible, to strictly working ten hour shifts every weekend, with a loss of bookable vacation time, and raises. This only became an issue for me as I am currently completing my Bachelor of Science in Nursing, undergraduate degree to become a Registered Nurse, and being confined to work only weekends, with no room to book them off or work other days, and hours, really affected my studies negatively. The employees were great and management was as helpful as possible.

a typical work day would always start with a safety talk and depending on the team leader or supervisor a morning group stretch. Supervision is very informative and helps you learn the basics of your job. they encourage troubleshooting and give you the freedom to make decisions on the fly. when working at robinson solutions you will find co workers to be nurturing and helpful toward eachother. but avoid the gossip! the hardest part of the job was the trouble shooting when i was younger, but i feel like that helped me grow as a person to figure out what i needed to do helped me to implement the tools i used at work into real life day to day situations, ei; playing safe, time management, co operation and focus to detail

No advancement, no benefits, no shift premiums, stagnant wages. Expect to be held to the same standard as other Robinson's sites that pay higher wages. 

Staff is a revolving door with near constant low morale and infighting. Supervision and management are both untrustworthy and incompetent. Any needs/concerns/issues are better brought up to your nearest wall.

The work itself ranges from simple and repetitive to physically demanding. You will be left to fend for yourself most of the time as supervision is generally non-existent. 

Even if you're desperate for some short-term wages, don't waste your time. Look elsewhere.

I was at Robinson Solutions for 12 years working within the GM Oshawa plant as an industrial Cleaner. While the work environment could be wonderful (co-workers), management (not all of them) and the balance of fairness was questionable. You could be the most amazing worker but because of unionized mentality, the laziest person would be getting the same "perks". Overall, I'm fortunate for my experience with them, as it made me realize what kind of future I wanted to have with my new company. 
Benefits were decent, work could be hard and dirty, but not difficult.

The crew. ...working with great people.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I didnt find much stressful. Everything was straight forward.

Clean, friendly, helpful and challenging..but in a good way. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day was spent with the crew executing PM's and other work orders. We all helped each other to get things done on safely and on time.
