I was offered another job, which is why I left, but during my orientation, I was told to take my time while training so I could learn what is good wood and what is bad wood. They didn't put me with a trainer, but a random employee who, yelled at me for not going fast enough. It might have been an okay job, but the training didn't sit well with me when I have someone yelling at me and doing the work for me, but then yelled at me for not doing anything, but when I tried, she did it for me. It would have been nice to have an actual trainer train me who would have been more patient. Also, I didn't like the staggard breaks. They give you all of your breaks in the morning and then for four hours in the after you have none.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Good pay, job is physical but peaceful after a while. Learning alot of useful trade skills. Good coworkers, good management. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
High demand physically. Dirty but good job 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Management ensures a safe and friendly environment. Good feedback to help workers succeed 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Alot of moving parts depending where you work. Expect to glue, measure, cut, trim, paint, downpile, transfer, and kits alot of heavy boards.

9 hr work days to the second!! Don't miss one day or they will fire you. They expect you to be early and working at start time and do not leave your station until the minute your shift is over. No prep or clean up time is granted. They are not understanding about absences. They do not pay for any break time. The jobs are very repetitive and physically straining,
the pay is good though if you can stick through all of the slave labour and under appreciation.

You'll be praised one week for taking initiative to keep busy, then scolded the next for doing the exact same thing.  My wrists were irritated one day from repetitive labor, and I needed a break from the position I was doing and have a change of movement. I was treated as if my bones were shattered and I wasn't allowed to do anything other than go to the hospital or continue with the movement that was causing irritation. I just needed a position rotation.

The company tried to entice people to come to work everyday with the new attendance incentive.  
The management staff come out on the floor regularily and sometimes helps out when needed
The pay is decent although not necessarily competitive
Lots of overtime if you want to work it.
Overall a good place to work, just wish people would come to work everyday.
Would still be there but found a job closer to home, more pay and less overtime

Co-workers were great. Lousy management. Learned about my rights as an employee regarding violence and harassment in the workplace. The hardest part of the job was the first 2 weeks. Once you make it past the first 2 weeks of back pain it gets easier. A typical day at work however was a different story. The line leaders were rude and inappropriate.

There are some very good people that work there but management is lacking in many ways.
Health & Safety is not a priority, workers are often stuck on the same line doing the same job indefinitely no shift rotation to avoid repetitive strain injuries.
They have a very high turnover rate, which says a lot.

Standard factory work,  a bit of a drive if coming from London, unless you like drive time, some do.

They are taking safety precautions since COVID, paying a bit more too.

People are ok, you can expect that small town vibe, if you know what mean, can be a bit clique'y', blunt and petty. Can be humoured.

My thought are if from London best to see if a buddy or two can join you.

There is work though!







You get properly trained on the job, great people to work with. Very very high turn over rate. Hard work but very easy to understand. Must be able to stay on your feet for long periods of time, NO SITTING. Can’t stress that enough. Air conditioned workplace. The only hard thing about the job is that you have to be on your feet all day. That’s it. Make sure you have good insoles for your boots or shoes. 

Rock land lets their employees go to work under the influence, I have watched a guy who lives close by on a daily basis go to work after seeing him in his yard drinking all day long! Guess they must be really desperate for workers if they’re willing to allow people to come to work in that state. Sad and unsafe
