Didn't mind finding out about available shifts on short notice, but if you don't live up to their expectations, they don't respectfully tell you. They basically ghost you then you get a random phone call and letter stating you have been fired. I worked fairly steadily for a month and then wasn't getting work.  I tried to contact them by text, email, phone and even went I to the facility and was always told I was doing a good job but that there was just no work.  A couple months later I got a letter in the mail stating I wasn't meeting their expectations at a job I literally did for only 2 days.  I was usually asked to do different jobs than the one I was hired for and did so gladly, but was still let go. I was hurt and shocked. I  wanted to do well but was never given any indication that I wasn't - so self improvement and growth was not an option. Cowardly and completely unprofessional. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Roelands Plant Farms Inc.  is a great place to work. The team is supportive, the environment is organized, and there are good opportunities to learn and grow. A respectful workplace with strong teamwork and consistent leadership.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The most stressful part is the busy season, when high demand leads to longer workdays. However, strong teamwork helps us handle the workload and get everything done.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment is friendly, organized, and team‑oriented. People support each other, communication is good, and the culture focuses on respect and working together to meet daily goals.

To be appreciated at this company, you have to be either senior management or willing to devote your entire life to their dirty work, plus you need to be drinking buddies with management. People work 9-10+ hours and do 5 peoples' jobs just to be told they're not doing good enough and refused basic healthcare benefits. The foreign workers and locals work 12+ hour shifts in the heat for days at a time just to be given minimum wage and a monthly pizza lunch, only when lockdowns aren't happening. 
Just don't work here unless you never want to be appreciated or properly paid for hard work again. I could go on about the cons of this company for days. No wonder no high school or college students want to return or apply to work for them. 

Propagation which is what we do at Roelands can be a challenging business due to its seasonal variations but if you’re willing to be patient and give the extra mile, you’ll see the benefits of working in a growing company.

There’s a lot of employees that have been with the company for several years which talks about the good opportunities for advancement.

The temporary foreign workers add so much value to the organization and it’s amazing to work with diverse cultures.

You will find opportunities to grow if you are willing to give your best and strive to improve continually. 
You may have to be willing to start from the bottom in order to grow. If you are committed, responsible, consistent, and friendly with coworkers, you will grow.
Many challenges along with the growth but you decide if you take them as an opportunity or as a problem.

Teamwork everyone helps each other 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Winter time when we have to ship over 70 loads a week. But sometimes the company make a staff lunch when we ship this amount a week. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
We have multiple different cultures.

It's a unique place to work, thats for sure. You will find two things at Roelands, discrimination and white privilege. International workers are "asked" to work +70 hours/week while local workers can work as little as they want. Management talk like they care, but they don't. Good workers are unappreciated and lazy and entitled staff get away with pretty much everything. Truly MODERN SLAVERY!

Know exactly what you’re getting into!

Agriculture does not pay overtime nor does it pay holidays! 

Great people working here (for the most part) but the unfair hours and false claim to care about a balance work/home life is enough to walk away.

Also, they hire heavily in the winter as it is the big season so expect your hours to disappear after February.

Only value to the company if you’re managment. If you are managment you can come into work and walk around all day looking like you’re not doing anything and be paid. Off shore workers will take your hours, no advancement at all. Hire 5 people to do 1 person job. Managment held higher than everyone else, no benefits, no holiday pay, taken advantage of

If you want to work very hard for very little pay, no benefits, no holiday pay, no overtime pay, then this is the job for you. This is an "Agricultural " business, and they take full advantage of it.
