A typical day running heavy equipment at S&R is they will run you hard , while your  being constantly “ micro managed “ for the smallest of things that don’t matter on day shift, but allow afternoon shift to sit back with their feet up and sleep and that’s perfectly fine in the eyes of management. This  is a direct quote from  management “ it’s hard to find anyone to work afternoon shift “…. . Which is saying we’re just happy to have 2 lazy operators show up so they can do whatever they want and they do… All the work is done on the day shift only. 
So depending who you are and how long you have been there, depends on how your treated. 
Management is the “ old school “ mentality where the  boss really doesn’t care how the workers wellbeing is, just as long as the work gets done so he can leave early …
The job of loading woodchips onto scows is a fast paced and fun job! Your 8 hour shift goes by quickly. Very old equipment as well…
But it’s a very toxic place to work with constant backstabbing and one employee in particular likes to text the boss after hours to say what everyone is doing … 
The safety or should I say “ lack of “ is a total joke as well.. If there’s something major wrong, they will work with the equipment as is ,BUT management will document it so they think their butt  is covered . Basically in managements eyes, the show must go on at all costs!  Major incident will happen in time there’s no doubt in my mind.

if you have no work ethic but your a butt kisser , you will do just fine. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
The pay is decent and you end up getting a fair bit of time off.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
It's brutally hard work and some of the management staff/supervisors do not at all understand how much energy you're expending and will continue pushing you to the point of exhaustion. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
If you work really hard and dont make any mistakes they'll treat you with respect. If you slip up or get sick or injured too much they treat you like garbage and will fire you over it. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Show up, toe the line of passing out from exhaustion, ignore my injuries, kill it for 8 hours and go home.

i have learned how to maintain different equipment different from my past experience.im getting bored of oiling and lubricating the equipment , you can train a monkey to do it . i feel i have more to offer and my  skills and talent are being wasted. The management is okay Lots or rumors and back stabbing.The hardest part of the job is keeping myself interested in doing my job but because i know the job is very important for maintaining the equipment .i take pride in my work ethics so i do my job..the most enjoyable parts is the pay cheques. all in all the company is a good place to work if u stay away from all the rumors and do ur job .

Sawing lumber to the demands put forth in front of me on a regular basis. Not knowing if I have work the following week.Well mannered management. All employee;s want is security with this employer and have never had it.The most enjoyable part of my job is working by myself at the pace needed to complete each order during the day.I feel confident on every aspect of my wood management. I have a grading ticket which helps perforn at a higher level than most.

worked 7-3:30 pm stacking up wood which ranged from 5 lbs to 200. worked with mostly great people but of course at a job that doesn't require a high school diploma they aren't all great. The mill rights and supervisors really did they're best in making sure that i was doing everything properly in the beginning so i wouldn't pick up bad habits from some people who might have trained me.

I didn’t find it stressful whatsoever, great experience

Great team work, good group of guys with knowledge and willing to teach trades

They are a very heard working group of guys, who are willing and able to show people what they need to know to do the job they are being paid to do. very kind and caring as well.

I worked their for many years. They pay well but you expected to work hard. IF you get any sort of small injury they will get rid of you. the workers work hard but are not the brightest.

Wonderful group of guys to work with and a great, historic company to work for. 100% Work day is typical 8 hour manufacturing schedule, but starts early enough to miss most of the traffic.
