What is the best part of working at the company?
Everyone has their own space to work in so it's like you having & running your own little business. Managers & supervisors are always ready to assist you with any issues & are very helpful. Most coworkers are kind & friendly. Good place to work & it feels like family! 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The most stressful part is not being able to get potential customers on the phone & that makes for a very long day! Also there are days when you need the help & no one is there. And there is a certain amount of favoritism in the workplace.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It's fine most days. They do treat their employees pretty well. Special events on birthdays & holidays make for fun times 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
For me personally it can sometimes be very busy & other days very long when customers cant be reached on closings or for potential new customers. Selling can be tough at times.

Hourly salary is relative to the area, but benefits are non existent, unless you participate in exorbitant group monthly payments. As we are laid off twice per year, (christmas, 3weeks and summer 3months), we are still expected to pay fully each month of the year.
I am finding though, that company rules pertaining to work environment are becoming overly excessive.
I do enjoy the hours,(no evenings or weekends), and consider everyone extended family.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Love the part time hours and summers off. 
Taking with my librarian customers is lovely. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Supervisors wanting me to go into sell mode without asking if they have a couple of minutes. I think that’s rude. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
For the most part, nice. But bosses have favourites. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Very busy computer and phone work.

telephone sales.
They crawl up your bum to get sales, don't talk to anyone. You will get in trouble. They break the labor laws, you work for 5 hours with no breaks. You also have to clean the kitchen, regardless on if you use it. Supervisors walk around with a pointer stick and treat you like second class citizens. Others walk around like a drill sergeant and treat you like a second class citizen. Would  never recommend anyone to work here. 
Some of the employees are really nice.

This was the prefect part-time job for me, with consistent hours and no evening or weekend work. My co-workers were really friendly and I have made some friends for life. The management staff were very fair and supportive. The only difficult part of the job was keeping focused in the spring when most of the librarians had already spent their budgets for the year.

Development of conflict resolution skills mixed with sales skills in a busy environment. Strong interpersonal skill set required as well as soft skills. Hardest part was to get through to those who make the decisions in purchasing, the product was top notch.

I enjoyed working there. If you love to talk with people and enjoy sharing a love of reading, this is a great company to work for. There was fun to be had, along with the more serious aspects of doing your job. Co-workers were easy going, as were those in management.

A typical day of work would be picking books for orders, unloading trucks, putting books away. The staff and management were friendly and helpful. I was working in a seasonal position. The hours were great and they were flexable about time off. 

worked on computer all day, learned about books and libraries, management was inconsistent, had favourites, hardest part of the job none, most enjoyable part.....going to work each day!

The hours were great.  Summer off.  Overall a great experience .  Staff were nice and happy.  Management was helpful and positive. Very nice and positive.  I enjoyed making calls to school libraries .  2 shifts to choose between.  I worked 1pm to 6 pm. Great shift.
