Management of direct supervisors was supportive and encouraging.Company drivers,owner operators and outside carriers were what I looked forward to every day.We had a great work relationship built on respect.I think the most challenging part was when you couldn't control late loads due to inclement weather or breakdowns in equipment.Even though you know there isn't really anything you could have done differently,it was defeating.I enjoyed the logistics of planning the moves and the interaction with fellow employees and customers.At the end of my day or week I felt as though I had accomplished what I had set out to do.

Productive and good people to work with. Got along well with the management and fellow co-workers.  We worked hard and had a laugh or two throughout the day.  The hardest part of the job was during the hot summer days in the warehouse.  A lot of people left the company and kept in touch with those we became friends with.
They provided Christmas parties and everyone was included at a restaurant that the company provided for. SLH had golf outings in which I won a couple of tournaments.

SLH used to be a very forward thinking company with great training, pay, benefits and equipment. Yet over the years they have let their equipment age without replacing (trailers).  Training is non-existant anymore, pay was just recently increased to keep drivers from leaving.

Our new owner CAT (Canadian American Transport) seems to be doing little to provide stability for existing employes.

The safety officer sold me a truck that was supposed to be good for the road. To make a long story short: I was pulled into the Kamloops scale with that truck, had my brakes inspected, then was told that I was going to need to get them replaced. That put me out of work for 2 days, I was issued a $1000 fine,  I received a 10 year mark on my cvor, and the brake job cost $3000. I will once again relay my frustrations about my lack of being able to trust people in this world.

Management is top notch.  They know how to treat their employees.

Drivers are paid by incentive, which makes your job managing them much easier.  Fewer lousy runs, and more chances to make money.

The company is really well organized, and since it is under such a big umbrella there is room for advancement.

I have worked for Sears/SLH Transport Inc for 13 years. I have experience in every aspect of these businesses. I have enjoyed customer service and administration positions. I would like to expand my skills and find something more stimulating.

Have gone through multiple managers and director of Procurement. One of the apprentices was promoted to be the manager shortly after getting licenced ! What a joke. Total mismanagement. What a waste. Mechanics are milking it by overcharging labour times. Budget out of control.

Was good place to work before but not a good place to work now. It all went down hill in the last two years.  Better to keep looking for a real job because you will get no were with this  Company.

Stay away from these guys they will Starve you out like they did to me your just a number to them. I worked for these guys for 15 years. It was the worst place i worked at and I was based out of calgary,Ab Thanks To  management .
