Workplace culture is mainly made up of Serbian employees that don't speak english and the other half are Ethiopian who speak little English to no English as well. Culture overall is ok and usually anyone from any race is welcome. People are friendly and outgoing and willing to help you with any problem or task you may have and willing to teach new employees. 

There is lots of CAD work which is good, but you can not use the experience anywhere else. You won't learn anything after 4 month and you will just work as cheap employee and they just ask you for more and more work. Our group manager did not give any feedback during semester and in the last day the feedback was discouraging. Overall, I do not recommend it for Co Op try to get better chances and just go there if you do not have any other chance and consider you may become shocked without any notice after they become sure you will not be there anymore.

Instructions to follow on the papers they give are almost always wrong.  A lot of the equipment you have to work with is old and almost broken.  Management is a little all over the place but they are nice and understanding people.  Coworkers are great for the most part.    Rotating shifts suck, and the pay is garbage.  Decent work/life balance

They don’t really appreciate good workers. Owner just wants to pay employees as little as possible. There is no any other benefit. Not really ambitious for engineers/designers.

A medium to large manufacturing company. I got to strengthen my math skills while doing material takeoffs and designing aluminum panels.

Sobotec is a leader in the architectural wall systems industry.  They provide great products and great customer service.  The owners are personally involved on a day to day basis and are the back bone of the company.

Had a great co-op experience with this company. Company and its employees were very team orientated, helping each other along the way on projects. Good paced environment with the opportunity to learn about material take-offs, as-built drawings, and fabrication drawings.

work was hard and people were not very friendly or welcoming. poor ventilation in the summer made for hot uncomfortable working conditions through all hours of the day. most of management and general workers did not speak English very well.

I was for Co-Op in Sobotec. Go there if you do not have any other choice. You can not use your experience any where else, and actually you are  just a cheep labor. You may get a bad feed back at end without any discussion with you. I do not recommend it.

great place to do a co op during school, awesome team of people and fun lunches/breaks playing ping pong or basketball. monotonous work, but if you put in the time they will have you working on all sorts of cool projects.
