It used to be called Sunterra Meats, but then some hot shots from Calgary bought it out. They had a different plant in Calgary but their managers ran that plant into the ground, Rather than buying something that works and making it better they decided to move all the managers to the new location in Innisfail, (the managers who ruined the calgary plant) And then invest another 3 million dollars into renovations, then they let their managers run that plant into the ground too. great waste of money, Now they had to downsize becasue with all the renovations they couldnt actually speed up anything with those managers there, ( i swear if they had left the old managers their and gave them the money to renovate it woulda been a cash crop) oh well they downsized i moved on and now they're not even making enough to pay for their renovations. next time look at the managment team before you waste all your money

A typical day at work is never the same. One day could be running really smooth and the next day could be long and really slow. In my 7 years I've learned lot from learning one job one day then learning a new one the next day. Management is good and easy to work with as long as people show they are willing to work and get the job done. The workplace culture has a sense of humour in it but when you get to know the people individually the level varies. The hardest part of the job is that it can be really phyiscal some days and the most enjoyable part of the job is when a production day goes really well.

The medical coverage is okay, and they give you a week's vacation at 4%

Frequent break downs, long hours no paid lunch and slow season reduced hours

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
They hire a lot of foreign workers so everyone keeps to their own groups, if you're not from the philippines, it's unlikely you'll move up in the company 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful, angry, used and underappreciated

Worst job ever. You will be asked to do things that are beyond your capability and worse. Your body will hurt like it's never hurt before and they don't care because the work has to be done. It's an extremely long day considering the Intensive labour that you have to do. Be prepared to be cold all day and have a refrigerator unit blasting in your face. Definitely don't do if you don't like  blood blood

You will be hired for one job, but because so many people call in sick every day, you will be made to do a disgusting and difficult  job that you were not hired for and also not compensated enough for. Management is terrible and looks down on their lowlife employees. Team  leaders are all special in their minds and feel like they are royalty. Horrible place to work!! 

I enjoy my job, but the management does not care about the workers unless you're friends with them.  The level of incompetence that management has is breathtakingly bad.  Very frustrating to deal with if you are smarter than they are.  If you're intelligent, avoid working here.  If you just need a job, they're always understaffed.

I was always helped and welcomed. All the staff showed me tricks and tips for the jobs I was assigned to. The management was open and cared about the workers. It was honest hard work that you could feel good about.

i worked on the kill floor and fabrication floor. i did not enjoy my job i am just willing to work labour and needed money. i was very demanding and i learned a lot about the importance of a strong work ethic.

any attempt made to improve work life and efficiency brought up to management was frowned upon. Totalitarian rule and disregard for employees mental health

Sexist environment

Not appreciated at all
Treated as expandable (when they’re always short staffed) 
Expects you to learn and know everything without a pay raise. 
Brushed off when issues are brought to them.
