A great place to work if you want very long shifts with the minimum unpaid break, they make you do pointless tasks managers constantly harp on you with differing ways of doing things, making it hard to follow. Training is little to none, expecting new people working only their second shifts to train the brand new people. Constantly having to ask managers what to do with no plan, hard to communicate, and get things done with anyone. 

At least in this company I've learned the limits to my chronic pain having no compensation for flexibility with hours despite stating in the interview I may have times I CANNOT show to work and they agreeded that was okay. Clearly, they don't care. Give them a heads up with a reasonable amount of time that your ability is changing and that it's due to medical complications they push and try to make you work what they want regardless. 

Would you rather work with workers who can work well or overworked workers who will halfass the job because you don't give them the proper compensation with medical issues, etc.
The lack of HR is also concerning how many people work there. I find it hard to believe that with 50+ people, you don't have an HR to help with issues that may arise in the workplace. 

Not to mention, I've had the worst anxiety before going into my shifts, and I have never experienced that before with other jobs. The best part is that co-workers are kind and friendly.

They do not train you and just assume you know, they're quite lucky the fact that I have common sense but others are lost and confused, the micromanaging doesn't aid the fact that it's stressful. You have no idea where you're working or what position as what you apply for doesn't matter and they'll place you wherever convenient.

If they don't like you good luck as well, you'll get no more than 2 shifts a week, and be prepared they love to quiz everyone even employees who have hardly any shifts about products like its highschool. Never had a job do this and it's so pretentious, it's a t-shirt, it's a pair of shoes not that serious. 

They also love to treat everyone like evil thieves employees and customers alike so be weary of that unless you want to feel like a professional pirate.

TLDR; management is conflicting and unorganized, bare minimum unpaid breaks, no respect for your life outside of work, great co-workers.

A typical day in this warehouse is extremely stressful due to poor organization and weak leadership. There are multiple managers, but the main manager lacks basic management skills and creates an environment of constant pressure and micromanagement. Employees are not allowed even a few minutes to breathe and productivity is pushed through unhealthy competition rather than proper support or training.

Instead of focusing on employee development, management promotes comparison by posting top whatever rankings on board, which only creates tension, burnout and resentment. There is little concern for long-term improvement, safety, or morale.

The supervisors (stock room) as well contribute heavily to a toxic culture. Gossip, favoritism and targeting are common, especially in the stockroom. Certain employees are protected while others are made to feel incompetent, isolated or constantly watched. Speaking up is discouraged and any attempt to question unfair treatment is taken negatively.

What I learned here is not professional growth, but how damaging poor leadership and favoritism can be to a workplace. The hardest part of the job is dealing with the main manager and rude supervisors, not the physical work itself. The most enjoyable part is simply leaving at the end of the shift! Work here If you are ready to have your mental health distabilized!
 Mind you, people leave everytime, those left are the ones looking for other options! You will be treated more like trash!

This workplace is entirely focused on sales, with no real concern for employee well-being. The environment is extremely high-pressure, with constant micromanagement and unrealistic expectations. Employees are treated with little respect for basic human and labor rights. The main manager is unprofessional, while other managers are kind but have no real decision-making power. The workplace is also poorly maintained and often dirty. Scheduling is unfair and extremely stressful, often leaving workers exhausted. Employees receive no benefits or basic workplace support. After sales targets are met, workers are left without shifts and without pay, with no access to any support or assistance. The company clearly prioritizes profit over its workers

I worked at SVP Sports warehouse and my experience was not positive. A typical day was very stressful with heavy workloads and poor organization. The working conditions felt unfair and difficult. Management was not supportive and there was too much micromanagement, which created anxiety for many employees.

The workplace was not clean or well maintained, and workers were expected to do extra tasks without proper facilities. Some supervisors were kind, but they did not have enough power to improve the situation.

Working hours were very unstable. During busy times, employees were asked to work long hours, but when business was slow, shifts were suddenly reduced, which made financial stability very hard.

The hardest part of the job was the constant pressure and lack of respect. The most enjoyable part was working with a few friendly coworkers.

I would only recommend this job to someone who can handle high stress and an unpredictable schedule

It's okay as a part-time job where you show up for 2 or 3 days a week, but spending any longer here will drain you mentally. Management is quite sloppy; you can come into the building and be told to do one thing by one manager, then be told something entirely different by another manager 15 minutes into your shift. There are two gendered washroom keys (despite there being two stalls per gendered washroom), and you have to sign out your name and time just to use the bathroom. Hiring ads will tout the "flexible scheduling", but most individuals seem to dislike their schedules (not enough hours, night/day shift when they want the other, etc.). Employees constantly come and go, sometimes for justifiable reasons (school, temporary job, etc.), but often times due to lack of hours, feeling undervalued by management, and more. The standards for new hires seem to be dropping more and more, making it a nightmare for any full-time or experienced employee to deal with lazy or rude new hires. Overall, it's okay and offers easy work for a part-timer looking to get some extra cash, but working here for any extended period of time is incredibly frustrating.

In today’s difficult economic climate in Canada, SVP Sports Warehouse takes advantage of workers. During sale periods, shifts are long, but once sales slow down, workers are left without shifts and without layoffs. Unpaid lunch breaks are not truly usable. The break room is dirty and poorly maintained, with limited equipment and seating. A “mistake board” constantly reminds employees of errors that can lead to warning letters. During a short unpaid lunch, most of the time is wasted waiting in line for the washroom and microwaves, leaving little time to rest. The only benefit workers receive is that same unpaid 30-minute lunch break to use the lunch room, even during very long shifts. There is no HR department, and the owner’s main focus is sales and profit, with no willingness to deal with workers who raise concerns — anyone who speaks up is simply removed. The rest of the day involves heavy micromanagement and little respect. Some managers are kind and professional but have almost no decision-making power.

This workplace is heavily driven by micromanagement, unfair scheduling, and weak, unprofessional leadership. The owner appears focused mainly on sales, while employees work under constant pressure. Working in the stockroom often feels like a high-stress, high-pressure environment where even small mistakes feel harshly punished. Feedback or warnings are sometimes given outside work hours, adding stress even when employees are at home. Overall, the environment feels punitive rather than supportive, creating anxiety instead of professionalism and leaving employees feeling undervalued 

A typical workday for me's usually 10hrs. Everyone's given one 30 min lunch break and that's it.
It is legal to work for 10hrs and only have 30 mins in the middle of the day for a break, however, it is the bare minimum and it's difficult.
Management's kind until you do something wrong like ask too many questions, mess up on an order, or make small mistakes a few too many times.

Management also does not trust not value their employees.
*What wasn't included in the interview were that our bags would be checked at the end of the day, every single work shift.*

Different departments have different work cultures. Mine has been good to me however other departments I've heard are incredibly unkind to one another.

The job itself was not challenging (basic computer skills & sales ability) and co-workers were great people. 

Management are hyper-vigilant about theft from customers and sales associates alike.  They also terminate people on a whim, with little concern of how their actions affect people's lives - so, don't expect to be treated with fairness.

There's an obvious lack of any kind of formal training for 'management'. Their impression of effective management seems to be that they're entitled to micromanaging and eviscerating people. 

Maybe they got their management training at SVP's HOG Academy. There's at least one of them that seemed to have received an A+ in this curriculum.

If you already have work experience in Canada, this workplace may feel very disappointing. Management feels unprofessional and there is constant micromanagement. The owner’s main focus seems to be higher and higher sales, while employees work under pressure with little support. Other managers are kind and professional, but they do not have real decision-making power. There are no benefits or accommodations, and workers often do not feel welcomed or respected. The environment is stressful and lacks teamwork or basic appreciation. Overall, it can be frustrating for anyone expecting a fair, respectful, and professional workplace.
