Ostensibly solely a drain cleaning company.  The owner is understanding, knowledgeable and professional. The field staff are excellent, believe in teamwork and support each other fantastically. The problem arises when the office staff get involved. Hours, for some inexplicable reason, are to be submitted daily. Phone calls from the office to technicians occur 10+ times a day, just to see their progress on their jobs. For the most part, it’s obvious the office staff is just trying to appear busy for when the owner is around. The lack of experience in the office is palpable in the day to day operation of the company. If you get on the bad side of one of the office staff, the entire demeanour for your tenure at the company will be tainted, treatment will change and any path forward for your employment there will become foggy. Due to contractural obligations I am unable to be more forthcoming with some of the shortcomings that shaped my experience here. Apprentices and service plumbers looking to do more than auger/hydrojet drains should continue their search elsewhere. During my tenure at this company at least two manager or manager adjacent employees left on bad terms. 

There is a lot to learn about any industry.  Some things cannot be taught, you just have to have common sense to know and do the right thing and ask questions when needed.  I am a very detailed, oriented person and make sure things are done right the first time.  There are lots of things to learn and I always look for improvement in anything that can be done to make things run smoothly.  This is a public driven company, and the employees are friendly and helpful.  I am getting full support  from the owner and other staff to do my job to the best that I can.  This is a great place to work.  Hardest part of the job is learning new terminology.

A typical day at SWR:
- You get in trouble for showing up 1 or 2 mins late, but are expected to work 10 mins past your shift regularly
- Miscommunication and misinformation amongst all staff members, which negatively affects your work
- Technicians that don't speak English make it very difficult to do your job properly and efficiently
- Staff yelling at you for not doing something right even though you weren't told not to do that thing
- Extremely rude and disrespectful coworkers that give you attitude for literally no reason
- Toxic and negative work atmosphere resulting in negative effects to your emotional and mental health

What is the best part of working at the company?
It is no best part to work there! Very poisonous environment don’t go to work there just a waste of time!!!!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Every day is very stressful there because of the management!

Poisoning environment this is why nobody working there so long!

Worry about when the Boss found you guilty with something!

Typical day at work is great. Staff here at SWR are the best. We are one big family. You learn everyday , keeps the job exciting. When your not sure of something there is always some to help. It makes you feel like you have back up. This makes the culture at SWR astounding! I'm not leaving that's for sure. The best part of my day working at SWR is getting to work with great people and the atmosphere! 

Get to work every morning and get instruction from the lead technician and get to the company van and drive tot he job site. I learn from the tech and service manager. I know most of the technicians jobs by now but didnt want to be responsible for all technician duties so I decided to move on


Friendly and supporting team. So much to learn and all you need to do is ask and someone is helping you learning the new stuff.
There are always some sort of events for different occasions; celebrating of different cultures new years or simply accomplishing a busy week.


Seemed good at first. I was warned by a previous employee about how toxic this place was. Gave it the benefit of the doubt and it did not take long for true colors to appear. Low pay and then they will promise a promotion, expect you to do the job without a pay increase. Every area is so disorganized, which makes no sense for a company that's been around since 1970

Since I have started working here (6 months ago), I have got training and gradual transitioning to use the system live and work with the customers and operation team. Office team makes me feel at home and my manager supports me through challenging time.
