Safety First - SFC

The first few months of employment with SFC is amazing and then. It seems after your probationary period you just get forgotten about and get thrown to the side.

The people who work here for the most part are genuinely good hard working people who don't get paid enough for what they do and then there other individuals who are just lazy, have subpar and deplorable hygiene and need 24 hr supervision because they can not be trusted to keep to the task at hand.

Management dosen't care for their people either as much as they claim they do and will under pay their people if they can get away with it.

Also be prepared sit on your butt and do nothing for long periods of time (days/weeks).

Best company that I have ever worked for. Management is very helpful when needing time off for appointments or other activities. Work various hours with NSP. You can work around your own schedule You can work under 40 a week with NSP or work construction and work over 50 hours. My foreman has treated me very over the years. My foreman has never ever raised his voice or swore at me ever. Which is a God Send because I have very rarely worked with a boss that never had a bad temper. I would recommend SFC as a great company to work for.


Good company if your in need of work. They are always willing to try new people and give them a chance at employment. I am from out of town and they were always understanding and easy to deal with in terms of going home every now and then. I am thankful for this company because without it i would have been unemployed the last few years as there is little to no work available in Newfoundland right now.

12 hrs standing around.  You're standing on roads all day.  
That causes feet pain up to back pain.  Crews are nice for the most.  This is a young man/ woman's job.  Older people shouldnt be putting their bodies through this or people with back issues, arm, or legs.

If you don't mind being anything but a dumb flagger this is the place for you. You're just a number here... they don't have your back and don't care if you get a zero hour pay cheque. 

There is a lot of backstabbing at this company. long hours and no work schedule. The company calls you every evening if they have work and if they do not they do not call so you never know which days you work. It is almost like being on call

Safety first is a great company for someone starting off in the workforce. You meet a variety of people and you usually feel while doing it. I love the comradery of the people that work there and you never know where you could end up that day

  The title says it all and they do not pay what a person deserves. They will fire anyone and everyone and most of the people they hire have no clue or what they are doing. I would not recommend this place to anyone. 

Good people who work here, you just have to let them know what you want. Everyday is different and that can be excited for some people. On job, it can be relaxing but sometimes a little stressful in very busy areas.

Little lower pay grade but overall great staff and learning experience would definitely go back to work for them if tjey had the work to give. Upper Staff are also down to earth.
