This review will be skewed because I started work with SHA in the Covid pandemic and am in a rural area where staffing/funding is limited.  We are in a dated facility and typical working conditions are fast paced and stressful.

This puts stress on all workers in addition to the pandemic & outbreak PPE requirements.  I am beyond burnout and I'm sure some of my other co-workers are as well.

Pay is okay but for the stress I go through daily it should be more.  I feel like I'm being taken advantage of. Benefits are good, however.

Management can be hit or miss - My local manager is amazing and very flexible with my work schedule and time needed, however remote managers can be completely oblivious and counterproductive.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Working with the beautiful residents in LTC. What keeps me going in life.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Union. First job in union. Nope! Never again. Totally bogus system that protects the worst offenders. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Hmmm let me pull out my letters to management and union. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Dread, walking on eggshells, disappointment. The only thing keeping me going are the residents.

There is a lot of room for advancement with SHA if you are willing to take courses/training.  The great thing about working with a Union involved is if you are having issues at work, you have the backing of the union; as well, if you accept a position and then find out a few weeks or month later it isn't to your liking, you can revert back to your old position within 3 months.  Lots of perks working for SHA

managers change all the time...they make people feel bad if they don'ttrain others in higher positions...why would an office assistant train a technician/supervisor to do their job?  Managers lack computer skills like calendars/contacts in Outlook...everyone hates the ancient 1990s payroll system with difficult coding and the managers make the lowest people enter it all and take all the credit.  plus they keep positions vacant to save money and then collect bonuses for it

The co workers were awesome and helpful.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The hours of 12hrs shifts too long.

Was ok need more better management.

Was very busy always on the go, no time for breaks was a long day.

work with toxic people for a company that does not care about its employees, management will not help with career advancement and will actively attempt to stop any potential career growth.  unrealistic expectations due to work hours (often working double shifts), insulting pay for the postion and situations we are expected to perform in daily

Time off, schedule, OT, Lots of trade support.

Dealing within a healthcare environment

constantly putting out fires every week

This company is okay in the concept of what they are trying to accomplish in regards to one health authority. Most authorities are still operating within their previous authorities. 
The chain of command is dicey, the management is either amazing or absolutely terrible. 
You need a thick skin to work here.

Work was ok but the high school mentality in the immediate area was draining both physically and mentally. Supervisors were located in different areas and had no hands on experience with the employees. 

Working closely with others and trying to improve the quality for all is a task I've always enjoyed. Teamwork can go a long way, but treating others as you want to be treated is key.
