What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The most stressful part can be busy periods, but I stay calm, organized, and focused on providing good service Sometimes the workload can be fast-paced, especially during busy times, but I work well under pressure and stay positive.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment is professional, supportive, and team-oriented. Employees work together to provide quality service and care to the community.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day includes serving customers, preparing food and drinks, maintaining cleanliness, and working with my team to provide fast and friendly service

A typical day at work began with helping patients to and fro from appointments. Once the clients where at the meeting place the client and myself would talk for a while until Doctor was able to attend. I would stay throughout the meeting as long as the client wished and than I would take them back to where I picked them up for the meeting. I learned how to understand clients and what they were going through. I learned how to help them into wellness and see them grow as we met. I learned different ways of expressing myself and allowing them to express themselves. The management was wonderful to work with. I learned so much watching him and learning from him. The hardest part of the job is learning to deal with the clients bad days. Knowing the clients and learning about them was the enjoyable part of the job. I also enjoyed working with the psychologist and learning about therapy.

The Dietary department is an interesting and busy department. On a typical day a worker would assist as many as 40 patients. Our duties include bringing food to the patients, picking up thier solied trays. You must have a thorough understanding of various diets and why food limitations are put in place for patients. The worplace culture is a caring, educated atmosphere where senior staff are always there to help junior staff with questions. The hardest part of the job is that we are faced with constant hard deadlines to meet throughout our day because the patients must be fed in atimely manner. The most enjoyable part of the job is knowing that I take part in helping patients to recover.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Not a very nice place to work, if you slowly want to get the life and dreams sucked out of you.  Then the SAH is the place for you.  Sage advice for those thinking of working at SAH, avoid it at all costs, management and most of the workFarce are TOXIC!!!!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The back stabbing WorkFARCE AND USELESS HR AND CORRUPT UNIFOR UNION

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
TERRIBLE AND SOUL CRUSHING, YOUR JUST A NUMBER AND YOUR EASILY REPLACED!!!!!

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
SUFFERING AND COUNTING THE MICRO SECONDS WHEN A SHIFT WILL FINALLY END!!!!!!!

My job consisted of being on call for mobile crisis calls...for mental health emergencies in the community of Wawa. Unfortunately the service was under utilized.

Pay was limited unless we got a call out, then it was a reasonable amount.

What I enjoyed most was the quality of training available to us! Our team consisted of persons qualified in my areas of expertise in social and health services!

As a new hire RN at Sault Area Hospital the environment is very welcoming and encouraging.  I have learned a lot about the workforce, working with co-workers in the health care setting.

Management is fair and approachable.

The hardest part of the job is the unpredictability, and the most enjoyable part is interacting with the patients and getting to know them.

In a typical day I am responsible of a team of 5 patients that have to potential to be acute medical, oncology, palliative and complex continuing care.

Sincerely some of the best work I have done. I miss the people. I can not appropriately articulate how disgusting the management team acts or lacks leadership. On a professional forum, I would urge you to think about your health and wellness versus an extra few dollars. It is unfortunate that SAH continues to lose amazing people and keep management that continues to display a code of ethics contrary to their ICCARE values. 

As a Psychiatric Attendant, no two days are ever the same. This job keeps you on your toes, developing your problem-solving and critical thinking skills. 

 The staff are incredibly nice people and make working at Sault Area Hospital one of the best experiences of my life. 

 Each day you have the opportunity to truly help someone in need have a better day, or to feel like they have made a connection with a genuine friend.

Opportunity for building good customer service skills with an empathetic understanding of health conditions causing stress on the family of elderly patients facing debilitating mental and physical issues that incapacitate their loved ones when they should be enjoying retirement.

SAH is an inclusive and diverse employer. They offer many learning opportunities. The hardest part of this job is seeing patients suffer. The lack of staffing makes it challenging to keep a work/life balance (this is a common problem throughout the world!) The best part of my many positions throughout the years has been working with such great teams every time!
