Savanna Well Servicing

Everyday is a challenge on a rig and troubleshooting is a major part of overcoming those challenges. My time working with my hands over the years has taught me how different forces interact with each other and what dangers could come from the relationship between these forces. I always pride myself on taking care of my crew and equipment, seeing as the job could not be done completely or safely without either. The hardest part of the job would be interpreting information from multiple sources on the fly while maintaining enough attention to keep everyone out of harms way. There are of course obstacles which every team leader faces at the beginning of their career about learning to teach and share information in a variety of ways. This is important because everyone learns in different ways, so adapting and modifying strategies to overcome these obstacles is the most efficient way I have found to promote a healthy and safe learning environment in my workplace.

A typical day at work for me is usually a 10 - 12 hr day. I manage the crew, paper work and equipment. I work with a company rep to aid and discuss all aspects of the job whether it be above ground or downhole. I work with my crew as much as i can to continue to bond and build relationhips. A challenge for me is diversity and communication but that is a challenge i embrace and strive to overcome. The best part of my job would be that everyone goes home to their family safe and sound each and everyday. I have full support from management at all times as well which makes my job enjoyable.

During my time with Savanna, i felt i was pushed to utilize all my skills and learn new skills as my time went along. There was ample opportunity to collaborate with others in accomplishing organizational goals and always felt comfortable sharing my opinions or point of views. I enjoyed my time in the field working with the crews and getting to work in various areas around Alberta and Saskatchewan. some work days extended beyond average shift requirements but only for time sensitive reasons.

I started at Savanna with limited experience, but through working with experienced people and the specialized training they Savanna put me through, I advanced and become useful. Savanna offered the best benefit program I was ever on, and had administrative staff that cared. The company itself took safety very seriously, which was inspirational to me. I really enjoyed working at Savanna, and left only to pursue a career in safety.

Hours are ok 
No work life balance 
Does not feel like a team atmosphere 
Doesn’t matter how much you know if you’re at the bottom of the totem pole you’re treated like you know nothing 
Some Old equipment seems hard to get it fixed properly 
Old wore out coveralls 

awesome job with amazing pay and great benefits. teaches you hard work ethics and massive knowledge on how a oil?natural gas well works. if you keep a good attitude your co workers will have your back

Savanna Well Servicing is a Good place to work for with beneficial wages and opportunities. Great team players as well and very safe company to work for. Highly recommended for someone new starting out.

Savanna has always treated me fairly. Most of the equipment is good out of my yard. Most crews are really good. Decent people who for the most part do their best to get the job done properly.
