Have a habit of arriving at work early, clean my desk, check emails, open all computer files for the day. Check voice mails.  Know where I stand and ready to work at 8AM.

Enjoy talking to people on the phone to direct them with names and numbers, redirect calls to the right people for the right product.  Needed to keep track of all calls incoming, outgoing and service.

There were times when out bound calls were necessary, and I made them, I have called church's, funeral parlors, taxi companies, Architects, Dealers and customers to collect information from Mailers that I put out. This is where mail merge is handy and the patience of stuffing envelopes.

Replaced Receptionist at lunch or break or away for the day.

Collected the Literature Request for the day, counted and packed products to be put out daily with the UPS system.  Enjoyed this activity for the movement, standing, pulling boxes down to have ready for the next day, visiting the shop area to bring the labeled packages to the Shipper.  And doing the Inventory monthly to keep track what went out and what was needed to order in.

Other Warranty info was brought to me to put information on Excel forms such as Lifts, Elevators, Stair Chairs and Vans.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Going home once the torturous shift was over.  The best part is knowing I am no longer employed with this company 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The Production Manager, Osas Izekor, has no decent communication skills and a very bad attitude.  He shouts at workers and has no respect.   If you say "Good morning " he asks "What is so good about the morning ".  The expectations are unclear and unreasonable for duties to perform.  They shout at you and verbally abuse the workers.  The compensation is far below the duties performed.  They do not appreciate nor value their employees. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It is a hostile and harsh environment.  The workers and leadership are abusive.  They yell at you and swear profanity at each other and the employees.  A very uncomfortable and unpleasant atmosphere to work in.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Brutal.  I feel used and abused.  I feel discouraged.  I've felt like a failure in life and to cause harm to myself due to the harsh abuses.  If you value self worth, purpose, clarity and real outcomes, this NOT the place to go.  Effort is not recognized.

Pay was good but money is just money in a very poor or non existent job culture environment.

You are expected to do what you can do and then go beyond to what you cant do often-even if you told them on day one that you cant.

They play favorites like many companies and they only listen to those who have been with them a while.
They will go as far as getting others to make up lies about you if they want to get rid of you.

No room for advancement and good luck getting a yearly increase.

Company built on somebody else's hard work. 
Managers sit in chairs doing paperwork and talking on phone all day.

They are limited to very few products and count on their large PM agreements to keep them alive.

5 paid sick days a year. No paid lunch and they discourage  breaks by trying to keep you over-busy.

Everything GPS'd except your personal phone.

This company lost at least 8 good people locally  (mostly due to stress and overwork) in 6 months.

They will terminate instead of giving raises.

I met my manager in-person day 1, then never again (I was there 11 months). I never met the CEO either. He works in Montreal and makes monthly trips to the Brampton location.

I ate my lunch in my car most days, as do most people. There isn't much space for eating inside, and the desks are so close together it's weird eating that way. Office areas crammed with desks. Very little personal space. If you are hired on as the CEO, however, you have a large personal office with ensuite washroom.

Benefits aren't terrible. No profit sharing though. No complimentary tea or coffee.

The one washroom is really, really gross.

Leadership rush product releases and updates. I observed leadership on several occasions ridiculing my coworkers for insisting on lengthening timelines in order to properly test products. Good people getting burned out or frustrated and leaving as a result.

Some great people that made it work, despite the daily adversities.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Everywhere has problems and pressure, but this is not the problem.  Ut's very frustrating when there is no strategy  to improve the processes to make it sustainable.(not even a concern on making one).
The daily routine is only focus on affixing the sales number for the month.
No real concern about customer or process to ensure consistent result.
Manufacturing KPI shall not be based on sales revenue.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Not a happy place. Feels like a revolving bad dream.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Repairing problems instead of developing solutions.

Or ask for someover time. I didnt learn any thing new as im a Welder. The work culture is very toxic. The hardest part of my job was the fear of losing my job at any moment and feeling very uncomfortable when spoke to due to the what was be said by supervisors behind my back. In this company you are always often the last person to know what being do or is going to happen when it come to you as a person and an individual working for the company. The most enjoyable time of the job was break time so I could get a little time for myself before having to return to the toxic work environment.

I've been with Handicare for 3 1/2 years. I saw the negative review and wanted to give an honest review. This company is a great place to work. The management really care about the employees. You can see that by the way they treat us. They are always asking us for our opinions and actually take what we say and put it in to action. It's true that we have had some transitions with being bought by another company but that is to be expected any time there is a change. During this time we have held together as a team. If you want to know the culture of this company? We are like family to each other and we always welcome new people in to our family.

General Manager is a crook, put his own son In a position to get big bonuses. All the managers are unqualified. Company regularly scams customers into buying overpriced parts and maintenance contracts. Only a few mechanics are given good vehicles, while the rest are given lemons and expected to drive all over the province. Supervisors don't regularly check safety equipment. And mechanics don't get trained on new equipment, but instead is expected to immediately know how to install, maintain, and service the equipment.

a few of the other techs and the one manager that was driven out .

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
lack of parts support from upper management. Micro management.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
I made for myself a great work environment by making good relationships with co workers and clients.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Drive lots, do service calls drive home. Or do soul sucking PMs.

The jobs themselves are not bad, pay is ok but not great as is the benefits. Management is the problem with this place. Theres no advancement for afternoon shift since the upper management decided to cut all but 3 of the higher paid jobs on the shift. HR manager should be replaced as she's the main reason for the hostile and poor work environment.  Unless you are related, don't expect to move anywhere in this company.
