Scamp Transport

Schedules are 4 on 4 off or 5 on 5 off.   12-14 hour days.   Different start times available on different rotations.   
You arrive to your yard or terminal.   Grab your tablet, truck and tractor and hit the road.   Load and unload.   
Do your training courses and attend monthly safety meetings (Paid)
Dispatch and Health & Safety are all pretty decent and experienced people who can get you though whatever challenges you might encounter.
The culture is generally positive and people decent.
Some days are long and don't go as planned.   Its outdoor work and its physical.   It can be a dangerous job and traffic & weather don't always cooperate.
However the equipment is good the checks never bounce and work is steady.   There are many different things to learn and products to handle.   
No two days are identical and there is a good balance in and out of the truck and short trips (or longer if that's your thing) .

I have 40 years driving experience, including 30 years hauling fuel, the last 15 of those with Scamp Transport.  Best years of my driving career.  I went from a good driver to a professional driver because of Scamp's training, safety culture and support from management.  The company is very conscious of work/life balance and will be flexible to support that.  Drivers who buy into professionalism do well with Scamp's policy and procedures.  As you improve and become more efficient at the job, your wages increase, as you retain more bonus.  Base wage is competitive in the industry.  New, up-to-date equipment is well maintained.

Scamp is a pretty good company to work for.  A 4 on 4 off schedule is nice to have, however the compensation for working extra days is terrible.  Unless you work the maximum hours in a week you only get an extra approx. $25 on top of your days pay, so no time and a half.  The schedule is great, you start at the same time everyday so no calling in everyday to find out if you are working.  Too many management members, and too many people trying to take money away from your safety bonus.  The drivers that work here are top notch and easy to get along with.  Everyone is willing to help no matter how new or old you are.  Paid by the load so you really have to work for your money.

They promised high wages -false.
They promised company benefits - but you have to qualify for the benefits and pay for them yourself, about $5000 per year.
I learned that I don't like hauling fuel, because you can't take your eyes of the pumps/hoses during fill/empty processes.
They have all kinds of electronic equipment in the trucks that monitor everything you do and they send you reprimands for minor infractions.
The work schedule is grueling and they max your hours out everyday and require you to attend safety meetings on your days off.
If you are a dedicated fuel hauler and enjoy being micro managed then work here, otherwise -do not.

Newer trucks, flexible hours and holidays.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Too many unreasonable and unrealistic rules.  Poor benefits.  Not enough pay.  Company blames everything on drivers.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Most drivers remain positive however there are underlying moral issues due to company policy.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Start shift, prep truck for rotation, get loaded, drive to delivery site, unload, and repeat.

Very good place to work here and get fuel hauling experience. Family owned by people who honestly care about employees. Very well rewarded for a job done well. Constant gift giving and year end bonuses even for new employees. Very good incentive to stay here. Monthly safety meetings with catered lunches and breakfasts. Lots of company swag given out.

5 am start as to my choice, great work life balance 4 on 4 off.
Very safety minded company with a great benefit package. Bonus after bonus for complying with company procedures and extra days worked.
Management has an open door policy.
Hardest part of the job is dealing with the motorists that are sometimes inconsiderate…
Most enjoyable part of the job is you’re left alone, work schedule is received on  your tablet … basically just show up to work !!!!!
Safety meeting every month with paid lunch .

Wouldn't recommend anyone work here unless you like to be babysat from dispatch. Exact routes must be followed or you loose "safety bonus", it's really just a performance bonus. Delays at terminals are common and bit adequately compensated for. Competition from other drivers for "better loads". Dispatch sometimes not available so you end up waiting for a call. This is a peace rate pay. Not hourly.

Scamp is a company who offer good support to his employees, good salary,  top notch equipment and experienced management.

I would recommend for drivers who want to be home every day and still earn a decent salary. 4 on/4off schedule with overtime if you want/can. A good job if you want to stay fit.

The first few weeks may be the hardest part for those who are new to gas delivery.
