What is the best part of working at the company?
I love how diverse we are at Scarborough General Hospital. And even if we are coming from the different parts of the world, we collide as if we are one universe. We work like a family in here that values excellent patient care, patient safety and listening to our patients on what their concerns are

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I guess the most stressful part is how busy we are. But nevertheless, we have each others support to help one another 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Like what I said, we are pretty diverse because we are coming from different parts of the world. Scarborough Gen is like the melting pot. But even if we are diverse, we respect each others differences and culture, we value each others opinions and we learn from each other culture and upbringing. In that way we can provide the best possible care to our diverse community as well 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Typical day is we start talking each other in the morning like a family, we plan our day together to colaborate to one another, and we always check each other on how are we dealing with our own caseload if someone needs help

Few managers were great. We have lunch and learn. We had gym and during break time hours we can enjoy exercise which helped us to relax from a stressful situation.Management at 3 Central floor was great, co-operative. Managers try their best for employees to achieve excellent attendance.Managers provided me leadership role as charge nurse and also I was team leader for G-feed tubes and IV pumps of new technology ( started I guess in 2005). Managers collaborated with employees during lunch hours which was really great.

I also worked in Hemodialysis.Loved working in Hemodialysis department but disliked Hemodialysis management. Lot of senior nurses, hard to get off day or vacation if having less seniority. Manager unable to accommodate their staff wisely.

Provided patient centered care in palliative care unit for 3 patients per shift and maintained excellent therapeutic relationship with patients and family members
Provided comfort, quality of life and effective pain management by taking appropriate interventions though excellent nursing assessment skills
Performed catheterization, O2 therapy, IV maintenance and G/J feeds
Administered medications through PO, Intra Venous, intramuscular, subcutaneous and PR
Performed wound care, wound debridement and dressing change following sterile technique 
Collected urine, stool, sputum and swabs for laboratory purposes

My work days would be different each time I arrive at the hospital because I would be assigned to perform different tasks in more than one hospital unit. I would work with the staff and I learned a lot about how nurses perform their jobs and why they are so beneficial to the hospital. The hardest part of the job was dealing with troubled patients because I would never imagine myself in situations where I would be verbally attacked for no reason. The most enjoyable part about the job was working with the nice patients who were always gentle and appreciated my efforts.

I enjoy working at the Scarborough General Hospital-Gift shop. Each day dealing and handling customers is fun and I learn many things like patience, compassion and honesty. Management is so supportive and helpful. Working with my co-workers is challenging since each individual is unique. 

The hardest part of the job is when sales is slow and few people come and visit the gift shop. As much as possible, we want to generate as much income there can be.

The most enjoyable part of the job is when people of all kinds come and visit us and we can help them look and buy what they need.

my typical day at work is working with patients by cleaning and sanitizing their rooms. I learned that keeping the hospital clean would not only save lives but also prevent future outbreaks. The management does their job ok. My co-workers help with maintaining the cleanliness of the hospital. The hardest part of the job is knowing   that we could get infected with some of the bacterias that they have in the hospital and coming home to our family.the part of the job that i enjoyed the most is knowing that i have a part on making some people feel better.

Long busy hours during the day however one thing was never the same. Exciting work experience everyday. Helpful coworkers during the day and excellent place to see patients improve their illness or injuries. A place that celebrates ones mile stone that is birthdays and anniversaries and the length of time one worked at the hospital. 

The hardest part of the job was when one looses their life.

The morning shift starts with patient transfer to next shift nurses. Being attentive to patients information and updates about health status is really needed. this is to make sure that orders and health concerns will be catered during the whole shift. The hardest part of the job is to make sure that you manage your time accordingly to take care of your different patients. The most enjoyable part of the shift is finishing your shift and being able to reach your targets and goals for the day.

Excellent work environment. I enjoyed every minute at this location and my manager was very supportive as well. This is my first place to practice nursing in Canada as IEN. Nothing but awesome experience in every area of nursing. I enjoyed working with everyone. All my patients do tell me that they appreciated my care for them. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Too much politics among staff.
Bad environment in some department.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Staff not cooperative and some of them just stay as senior and does not provide complete pt. Care. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Bad, role play in staff of ICU

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
No so good. Strees with staff. Needs folloe up among senior staff too.
