What is the best part of working at the company?
The only redeeming quality the company has was they paid on time and correctly

Management is completely detached from reality, the company fosters a stressful environment, quite often doing the opposite of what would make employees happy with no down side to the company- just because they can

Stressful, asking more from the employees as much as possible, pushing the boundaries of what is acceptable labor standards 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Report at least 20 minutes early, have your schedule of where you’ll work and what you’ll be doing in shift completely conger on you last minute, if a person complains  at all it’s either they’re told they’re not a team player, or told if they don’t like it, leave.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The work is easy. That’s it. There’s not much else to say but there’s a required minimum of 30 characters so I had to write something. I have nothing positive to say about this company

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Not knowing how many hours I would get as a casual worker. My name would be put on the schedule and then taken off whenever they felt like it or whenever they hired another friend of the boss

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Terrible work culture. There was rarely any English being spoken. This made for very poor communication 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
It was a very easy job, but the lack of communication and work ethic of some workers was very poor and management never stepped up to address these issues

This is not your typical security role. It required somebody who is comfortable operating and maintaining company vehicles on a construction site in the middle of nowhere. At times the job can be extremely stressful due to the working conditions. If you have worked in a camp job before than you should adapt easily but if not then you will have a hard time adjusting to the 12 hour days. There is a high turnover of staff and management. 

I honestly believe that Scarlet Security is definitely one company you should avoid by all means. You should only work for them if you are desperate or down on your luck. Otherwise, my advice is to AVOID getting involved with them.

Almost everyone on the management team is too inexperienced to be handling security services and seem to frequently cater to their own interests. The work environment is very toxic and the work or promotions are not merit-based. There is an overwhelming lack of respect for the employees, and as a result, there is a high staff turnover rate. BEWARE!!

Management lets guards sleep during shifts.
Company hires in experienced management with no skill sets to match what they are needed for. Management has no human resources experience and an unprofessional and biased approach to its staff.

Management were trying to stop the guards from being unionized.
Management have no experience in team relationships or have no idea about field level day to day tasks or qhat actually happens.
Save yourself from this company.

Worked for Scarlet Security for almost a year when I was laid off. They ended up hiring again a month later so I applied and haven’t heard a word since. Their was also alot of favouritism between the managers and workers. Plenty of times I witnessed this myself. The managers had an outside relationship with alot of the employees and they seemed to be friends. Giving extra shifts to co-workers  when they don’t deserve it. I showed up everyday on time. I showed up everytime they called me in the middle of the night needing guards. Seems they need to change management in the Yellowknife location. 

When I started, I was promised a raise within 3 months of employment. Been working 3+ years and still didn’t get any raise because they say you have to convince them and give them a reason for why you should be granted one even though their advertisements says you’re guaranteed a raise within 3 months of employment. They constantly ask you to stay at work if there isn’t anyone to cover night shift or shifts other employees no-show. Your life practically have to be dedicated to work in the building. Basically live in the building. 

This company uses you only as a body , basically you are hired if you can sleep or walk both would be preferred. they don’t care about experience or any training, honestly poor poor company from top to bottom. Guards are unhealthy and sleeping all the time! Shocking they have contracts in large projects they are a terrible example to Security Guard company’s! Scarlet should be ashamed for their poor training ( none) and for their poor management skills!

Not really a definable best part but the medical benefits were not horrible

Low pay, political games, no job security

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Toxic for the most part because it is taught from the boss level down that you look out for yourself and no one else.

Would still be working for them if I didn't have to move away. The crew ended up feeling like a family, everyone is always so friendly and helpful. You weren't made to feel bad if you had an issue to bring up to a supervisor (personal or job related) I really liked the safety culture as well.
