Company abruptly closed Canada Centre and took away the livelihood of 150 people. Welcome to the Schneider family. Their motto is that they care about their associates. The workers at Schneider worked very hard and tolerated poor management on a day to day basis. This company treated everyone, including the drivers who worked very hard, as disposable. Concerns were portrayed to be significant by management but were never followed up on or given true consideration. All in all, a toxic work environment...it's tough to find a new job but environment at Schneider was unhealthy and insulting to all associates.Schneider is a billion dollar company with the CEO making 5.1 million dollars last year. Enough said.

Safety oriented to a fault, which is a good thing when you're still learning the ropes. They never push me to drive in bad conditions or with broken equipment, or even if I'm just not feeling it that day, but the miles are there if I want them. Dispatch has always treated me fairly and seems to genuinely care about their drivers. I'm in a one year old Cascadia with all the features I wanted. The only real complaint I have is pay, which is bad even for a training company. One of my trainers even told me to just put in a year and then go elsewhere.

enjoyed working for Schneider national as a driver going all over Canada and the united states.the hours are very long and I was away from home for14 to 15 days at a time with 3 days at home, they are very long shifts. learned a lot about the USA. management is very fair to employees. workplace is excellent and the most enjoyable part for me was seeing the wide open spaces every day but my wife was getting quite aggravated.

I found the training was good except when it came time to do the SQT.  Went out with a training engineer for 7 days, got the training but came back and immediately had to do the SQT.  Even after saying I wasn't ready.  Failed three times,  had to do it three times in a row and after failing the third time was told if I went and got three months exp with another company that they would rehire me and I'd only have to do the SQT.  The whole reason I'd gone to them in the first place was because I couldn't get in anywhere else.

Work days are long, lots of traffic depending on the city you are driving around or in DBL's will listen to you're concerns and allow you to take days off, will try and make sure you are home on the days requested. Biggest issue with driving transport in general would be the brokers some are good others not so much .. you can get your message to cross at a border hours before reaching it or possibly a day later.

I loved working with all of the staff. The training staff was especially knowledgeable and my manager was always there if I had to call in for any questions. I like that they have 25 or so yards all over the USA and Canada to stop in and get a shower, free laundry, paperwork, etc. Just about whatever you needed. I just can't live on the poor pay structure. It's too bad.

Needed experience and a little more training so this was the perfect fit for me at the time.There training was excellent,I the did some team driving all over the USA and of course back to Canada.Learned a lot .

I was able to project my talent to the fullest. Management was very support and encouraging to all my ideas and my desire to move up.

The environment was fun and relaxing, the duties and object was very clear. The most enjoyable part of the work was having weekly meeting with colleague and management.

Schneider is a company that provides excellent training opportunities to its employees. The company recognizes and rewards high performers. It is easy to move up the corporate ladder up to a point where promotion opportunities are only available for those willing to relocate in the US.
