This is a great,  straight up, transparent company to work for. There is no mind games. Everything is plain and simple, show up on time, do your best. 
Job sites are incredible chances to gain experience at all times in countless departments. When You have questions, right questions (yes, this is not a law firm, this is construction,  so there are right questions and wrong questions) anyone who ask, will stop and dedicate their time to answer your question to their best ability.  
If you put yourself in ScopeGap, ScopeGap will put themselves in you, it's a clear 2 way road. You work hard, you will be noted. You pretend to work hard, sooner or later, that will be noted too. 
Nobody wants to work with negativity, simple human nature. 
People who run ScopeGap are the same humans as you.  
At the end of the day,  if you are a good person,  this company will be great. 

I really enjoyed working here, I was really excited about the position. The hours are a bit difficult to adjust to, but worth it. I got along well with most my coworkers, though they do talk behind people's backs a bit, but that is to be expected in a construction environment. I quite liked working here, it's the only place I've worked where I would leave work with a smile on my face due to how much I enjoyed it, I remember getting the job and crying because it was perfect, going so far as to quit my old stable job in favor of this new job. That all being said, the job site is beholden to the site supers who didn't like me too much, and I was fired shortly after starting with little to no warning, left without a job in the middle of the pandemic. So a summary: I loved working here, it made me happy, but It also left me destitute in a financial crisis.

My time with Scope Gap was shorter than originally planned (due to an apprenticeship offer elsewhere), but I can sincerely say that Scope Gap provided me one of the best employment experiences I've ever had.  The company is young, growing, and full of opportunity.  From day one I was treated with respect, and given opportunities to show my worth.  Work-ethic is well rewarded within this company; and the management are diligent with employee reviews.  I always felt valued, and I highly recommend this company to anyone with a strong work-ethic, and positive mindset.  Many skills can be learned here, and with the right attitude you will be consistently rewarded with certifications and training opportunities.   

A typical day consists of doing and redoing tasks that site supervisors change their minds on. Very frustrating company to work for even at the lowest levels. In the interview you are told that it is a steady path to advancement but its not. Training is very hard to come by even when there is nothing to do. The culture is toxic and theres plenty of gossip. I learned some skills but at the end of the day the company could be run so much better. The starting pay is actually pretty good to be honest but the rules that managment decides to make you follow are completly useless and dont solve any issues. At one point managment would actually give you written warnings for carrying around coffee cups.

If you are green in construction you will go very far, in fact you'll probably be a lead hand or supervisor within a year and a half...only if they can mold you or your a hardcore brown noser. 

I left this company due to a supervisor (who should've never been given a white hat due to the fact of not knowing how to manage and treat his crew properly) making a inappropriate comment to me and I had enough of his discriminatory bs. Besides all that, I did meet a few solid people through out my time with this company but at the end of the day scope gap is a revolving door of people. 

Scopegap is a great place if you want secure, steady employment. I've been given the opportunity to prove myself as a hard worker and that way I climbed up the ladder all the way to managment. 
I've read all the reviews here and I actually recognize a few of the bad reviews that came from people who got fired like the one that mentioned that you can get a write up for walking around with a coffee (we get paid to work and not to hang out having breakfast.
Overall if you like to earn your clean money this is a good place for you.


A typical day at work is getting your radio and having tasks changed every 5 minutes, supervisors micromanage to the extreme  a constant threat of being written up or terminated was conveyed on a daily basis. Scopegap is a company that is run on empty promises the hardest part of the job was getting out of bed to go the most enjoyable part of the job was the coworkers and 1 or 2 supervisors 

Worked for Scope Gap for six months in the Kitchener-Waterloo region, overall I really enjoyed my time there never had any problems with co-workers or crewmates, made some friends and I learned a lot about the trades from never working on a job site before. Overall what you put IN is what your gonna get OUT of this job, if you show up every day with a good attitude and the willingness to learn you will have no problems. As well you get to work with other trades so it gets very entertaining.
