•	Minimize regulatory and reputational risk by conducting daily, monthly and quarterly reviews in relation to retail and institutional futures activities.

Scotia Capital is a head-down and power through the work type of environment.
There are plenty of opportunities to move within the organization if the environment fits your expectations and comfort levels.
The scale of the organization, the regulations under which it operates, and the processes and systems it has in place make Scotia a very change and risk averse environment.  This means it is very difficult for the organization to react nimbly to changing regulatory and consumer environments.  There were efforts underway to address this, but changing flawed processes or tools is very difficult.

It is a good place to work overall.  Professional environment. A good place for new graduates to learn about industry fundamentals. Lots of learning resources.  If you have a good manager there's a good work life balance. Cafeteria provides decent breakfast and lunch at reasonable prices. 

Scotiabank used to be a great company with a great culture. It all started as a new fresh team, new management, new goals, but right now changes are happening so fast and there is a general sense of uncertainty and a lot less of royalty due to massive restructure process.

Scotia Capital was a great place to learn about capital markets and deal with large dollar transactions.  The Management at the time was inclusive and advancement opportunities were plentiful.  The pace of the work was really intense but you really felt a sense of accomplishment after the day was done.

I enjoyed my short tenure at Scotia.  It was a contract position, and it served it's purpose very well to get my in line for a front office position.  My bosses were fair, but compensation was light.  Probably not the best person to evaluate the company given the length of time since my employment and the fact that I didn't have access to full-time benefits.

Currently working as a summer student, it is a good company to work for. My department is very forgiving with their students and gives us tasks that test our skill sets, I am currently waiting to  cross train at the bank which to me is their strongest asset.  Since Scotia is so large, there are a ton of different departments to gain exposure and experience in.

Good place to work, very fast paced with really great people to work with. A team environment, where everyone is expected to participate with the workload at peak periods, this could make for some long days. Overall a good place to work.

You run a team under you, but the Manager is always skeptical of what you did in the past.
Constantly threatening your job is at stake because she does not even want to listen to your ideas.
Relied HEAVILY on pen and paper. Disapproved automation.

Reputable organization. Advancement opportunities are limited if your educational background, experience and expertise does not lie in the Finance area.

Smart people around to learn good software development practice. Good regulatory practice as I worked with Volcker Regulation. Strong Devops and infrastructure support for developers.
