I have been a Scotlynn employee now for about 4 months and I really love working here. I have been in the transportation industry for 15 years now and I have never worked at such a positive / get it done type place before. Usually trucking companies are in run down offices, with old equipment, dated software and a poor work life balance. At Scotlynn it seems everything is new, clean and they continue to invest into the business and employees. 

It is a very flat organization structure with the ability to talk directly to the VP or President / Owner if needed which I like. For the most part it seems like everyone works together well and likes each other. Very positive overall culture here compared to the last 2-3 companies I have worked for.

There is no question that you are expected to work hard and stay productive but the perks are well worth it for me. If you are a slacker or looking to coast through life this is not the environment for you. However, saying that, there is an onsite gym with a personnel trainer provided for free and your allocated 40 minutes per day during work hours to stay fit / healthy. They also have an amazing chef who prepares 2 snacks and lunch for free every day. The meals are not cheap brown bag lunch's either, this is restaurant level quality food (No more packing lunches for me...). 

I have recommended and will continue to recommend friends, family and past co-workers to work at Scotlynn.

Working as a co-op student at Scotlynn was a fast-paced and extremely rewarding experience. Each day involved coordinating shipments, communicating with customers and carriers, and handling challenges that required quick thinking. Throughout my time in the role, I learned so much about the logistics industry and strengthened my communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Management was consistently supportive, always there to help or answer any questions I may have. The workplace culture stood out as one of the highlights, everyone was welcoming and genuinely invested in helping one another succeed. While the fast-paced nature of the job could be demanding, especially when dealing with last-minute changes or unexpected issues, it offered great opportunities for personal and professional growth. The most enjoyable part of the job was being part of such a motivated and supportive team that made coming to work every day a positive experience. 

At Scotlynn, you will be expected to show up for a regular work day and contribute to the many different teams and accounts they have. This could mean you will be working non stop on the logistic side or learning some real life sales skills that can be taken with you. They offer some of the perks of a full time employee which includes personal gym time through out the day and free food, including breakfast, lunch and snacks. It can be easy to get comfortable with the work culture but best believe every employee has some kind of expectation they must meet. You will be working with a full time employee for most of your time during the Co-op so be ready to be social and attentive since Scotlynn has commission for account managers. The hardest part?  Working hard to earn more money for the people you are working with. It is easy to work hard for yourself but what can you contribute to Scotlynn? I have never seen a company that values hard working people as much as Scotlynn, they want people to succeed and they give so many tools to make sure hard working people do. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
The gym access and not having to pack a lunch. That’s about it… 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
You can do a great job and they still find a way to bring you down. Yearly reviews leaves more than half the people leaving the meeting in tears. No one stays because the environment is toxic, full of drama and unless your one of the top five brokers your treated with no respect. Favouritism is huge in this place. As long as you’re someone “favourite” you can do no wrong and everyone else will be forced to clean up your mistakes. Don’t expect a pat on the back because they won’t give it to you. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Some people are great and then there’s the toxic people. You would expect professionalism but it’s more like high school. They treat the migrant workers like they are disposable and below them. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Full of stress and constantly looking over your shoulder. You can’t trust anyone so it makes it extremely stressful. Days drag on and you can’t wait to get out of there.

Working at Scotlynn has been an excellent experience for me so far. Hours as a billing specialist are 8-5 with the option to bank hours when they need help catching up. You are provided free lunches, and free access to the gym and a really awesome personal trainer, if you would like. There is a lot of sitting at a desk - for this reason the added perk of the free on-site gym and personal trainer are even more appreciated - however you are able to get up and grab a coffee/tea any time. The workplace culture is excellent, they want their employees to work hard, learn and grow, and connect to be the best team they can be. You have to be able to work hard as a team and independently, communicate well, and be honest and trustworthy. The most enjoyable part of working at Scotlynn is being provided with the opportunities to better yourself while working hard and earning money. There appears to be a lot of potential for growth within the company, and that is also a great benefit. 

This is a horrible company to work for especially if you are in sales & account management. Unethical practices all over the top management & they change your  designations & salary structure with out even notifying you. 

Starting salary is extremely poor but they will promise the moon to you that if you pound the phones then you will make six figures which doesn't happen at all in that office.

No corporate culture, profanity & verbal abuse in the office. The company management is flooded with their own family members even though they are not even competent enough to be in that position. Uncles, aunts & cousins are spread all over the management with nepotism & favoritism. The head office is based in rural Norfolk county & they micro manage everything from there with out any regards for modern corporate culture. They monitor your in & out times as if you are working at a fast  food  drive thru.

I thought I had hit my dream job when I started here at this company. 
I loved that it was a M-F job with paid meals, a gym and so on. 

Up until recently I was let go within my probation period. No reason, just "were deciding not to move forward with your employment" 

I did data entry for this company. 
I was there on time or mostly early from the time I worked here. 
The training felt odd, it felt out of place, no direction and no feedback. I was doing what was asked of me. 

What's more sad is that there was never any transparency. My manager never really responded to emails sent to her. It was just here and out. 
 I ended up getting sick and that's where things got strange. I was transparent about what was happening but I got a strange vibe from them afterwards when I had to call off. 

Anyways, Id consider a different place to work. 
For everyone's sake, this has not been a good experience. Still in shock over this but just being honest. 

Before starting at Scotlynn i had a hard time being happy and feeling fulfilled at work, I often felt burnt out after a month of working at every job. I always felt like i didn't have a purpose at my job. When i first joined the Scotlynn accounting team i was excited to learn something new, even though i didn't have a lot of experience when it came to accounting/billing they gave me a chance. I have been working here for a year and a half now and i can truly say that this has been the most rewarding job i have ever had. When ever i have an issue i know i can rely on my manager to help get through it, if i ever need help clarifying new tasks that i have been given i never hesitate to ask. The work life here at Scotlynn is something that is very rare and i will always be grateful for them giving me a chance.

I've had an exceptional experience with Scotlynn, their recruiting and onboarding process was great and ensured a seamless, supportive transition into the team. From my interview to my first day, every step was clear, organized and welcoming. They have a great training program that helped me better understand the company's mission, values and long-term goals which helped me understand how I fit into all of it.

Another thing that I really love about working here is their dedication to employee growth and development. There are opportunities for learning, skill-building and career advancement. Managers make sure to check in and confirm that everything is running smoothly and address any questions you might have. They put an emphasis on professional development, and it's clear that leadership values and invests in their employees' success.

What a great place to work. Been with Scotlynn just over 1 year and in that time it seems everything has grown.  I have worked at a few transport companies in the past decade and nothing really compares to Scotlynn. This is not a place for slackers or part timers. If you put the time in. You take the money out along with a sense of accomplishment. The support is a huge reason I joined the team as everyone has each others backs 100% of the time. 

I would recommend to anyone in the industry looking for a fun,fresh challenge. Chef makes fresh healthy lunches and snacks daily due to our office being in the country. Half hour daily in the gym with Personal trainer who monitors progress.  It’s a great company to work for. Work is easier when you enjoy what you do and have a full team of support.
