Let me start with the good. 
This company has friendly management that does their best to be flexible with the scheduling or to make changes to the schedule to accommodate work-life balance, often requiring only three-days notice for time off.
Now for the parts that could use some improvement. 
For benefits, the company does offer an extended heath-care plan which includes some coverage for eyeglasses, dental work, and pharmacy. However, coverage is limited and has a rather high deductible. 
The pay for most of the properties they look after is generally minimum and that is due to the fact that these properties are "low-end" or properties that other security companies don't want for various reasons. 
One property I worked at was infested with mice and cockroaches with bedbug-infested mattresses left in the hallways for guards to rub against while on patrol.
A couple of properties were physically dangerous for the guards. I was assaulted three times while working for this company and received very little support from the company. I once asked to meet with management to discuss the assaults but nobody showed up except myself. 
The company also does not provide any training or assistance in Use-Of-Force techniques which should be required when sending guards into dangerous areas and/or having to deal with "nuts".
Also, there is supposed to be a mobile patrol supervisor to assist the guards, but most of the time the supervisor is "too busy" to help even in the case of an emergency.  
Guards are also sometimes asked to perform duties that are unsafe and outside the realm of a security guard's duties (Not covered by WSIB). 
In addition, too much emphasis is put on the "likes" of the property managers and board members. I realize the account managers need to protect their accounts, but complaints by property managers and board members should be properly investigated. Complaints against guards are rarely investigated and are usually frivolous. 
Finally, after over four years with this company, I expect to be given something a bit better, but I guess they don't have anything since they have few decent sites and nobody ever leaves the good sites.
Overall, I enjoy the flexibility of this company but I am sure they can be more supportive.

I've been in security for a while. Worked for half a dozen companies and most of them treat you like a number. Here they know you. 
The account managers make it their job to treat you well. 
It's not always an easy job and sometimes you will feel left out. But speak to your account manager and that will change. 
Time off requests are taken pretty easily even last minute if their available. 
Your never forced to work more hours(I get calls and rarely go in and they never get upset) 
All the negatives here are worse in other companies. 
But really its down to the site and your team... 
If you don't like your team or your site speak to your account manager and try to get a resolution. I guarantee it will help.

Cancelled, delayed and diverted flights, and denied boarding
	Manual Load sheet (weight and balance)

Dangerous goods loading and offloading
	Coordination with operating captain regarding fueling, and loading of baggage & cargo


-	Airline policy, procedure and documentation with respect to ground handling                  
-	Relationship management and customer services
-	High Level Productivity for the mass movement handling of Haj and Umrah peak season flights 
-	Documents verifications, especially sixth freedom

After I migrated to Canada, SMS gave me first employment .I started as Concierge with salary of $ 8.50/hour in 2005 and progressed and was assigned as Site Supervisor at scale of $ 13/hour.

While working with SMS I designed training tools and Power Point presentation for fellow Security Guards. Carried out Fire Alarm and various other emegencey situation,s rehearsal.

I also presented day to day contribution of Security team to the management and it followed with weekly review meeting with board of directors, property manager and an official from SMS.

bad enviornemnt, everyone seems to not care at all about the job. i have aksed to get part time hours becuase of school and they keep schedulign me for full time. i then get in troble for not comming into work even though i told them i cant work like these typoes of hours anymore. its good to study at work but thats probably about it, dont listen to the employees at all. minimum wage from the start for ever, why would i work here if i can go to mcdonalds?

I have worked here for 2 years, only got an increase when the min wage up, so essentially still at minimum wage. they do a lot of low end condos and buildings under construction. Also the security systems dont work very well. I have seen myself where information just goes missing or a door shows its closed but its open. Not organized payroll, many mistakes and changes all the time. Great place to sleep or do your homework, since everyone else is.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It is well and very good. Peaceful and friendly environment. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Depending on the circumstance because this work is unpredictable.

Your typical duties of a concierge is to offer exceptional customer service even though you think it is a security job. Well it's not. You provide customer service to residents of building, to the management team and your employer as well as the superintendent and other contractors coming on site.

Management is excellent

If You are Hindu or From India You will be granted to a higher position in the company. The Head Office is a joke. They have people with high power who are uneducated and don't have a clue of what their role is in the company. The pay will never go up even if you try to work as hard as possible. People starting from management will always look down of you !! All in all this one of the worst racist Islamophobia company you will ever work in.

When I worked with this company a few years back I never had any problems with work hours. It was always a matter of calling and asking "Got any shifts?" and there was always something somewhere.  The HR actually cares about the employees and their well being as well as the clients.  All in all I have almost no issues.
