Working as a Project Manager at Selkirk Signs was a fast-paced and rewarding experience. A typical day involved coordinating multiple projects, collaborating with design, production, and installation teams, and keeping clients informed and satisfied. I learned a great deal about managing timelines, problem-solving in real time, and balancing quality with efficiency. Management was supportive and approachable, trusted their team, and fostered a family-style environment where people genuinely looked out for one another. The workplace culture was collaborative, hands-on, and solution oriented, with a strong sense of teamwork and mutual respect that made everyone feel valued. The hardest part of the job was juggling tight deadlines and unexpected challenges, but that was also what made the role engaging. The most enjoyable part was seeing projects come together from concept to installation while working with a team that truly felt like a work family.

Fast paced and energetic.  I have had Multiple opportunities to learn develop and grow.  Collaborative team work and  developing a team environment encouraging feedback.  The hardest part of the job is getting it all done in a day. The most enjoyable part of the job is being able to see the end result of your work, whether it be a single sign or a massive re-brand. 
The culture is  good and moving in the right direction,  the new leadership seems to be focused on building within and developing a collaborative growing culture with great work life balance. 

Felt really good about this company as I had previous experience in the area I applied for.. well apparently if you make a mistake you are gone. My “lead hand” who was supposed to train me (I had come from a shop where there were some different machines and ways of doing things, anyways instead of showing me (as one would think a lead hand and trainer should) she would just say she could do it herself .  

So yeah instead of trying to help me along with tricks they do they decided to push me out 
 
This company gives you the “feeling” like they want you but don’t trust them.

Management is best I have experienced. Very encouraging atmosphere, a group of people with a lot of knowledge and experience willing to take the time to pass their knowledge to you. Very collaborative making it easy to come forward with ideas and suggestions.A company that understands mistakes happen to everyone and a "What can we do to fix this and prevent it from happening again" approach when they do happen. A great example of a group of individuals working together to achieve a common goal. They fall together and they rise together.

Had a core of long term staff.  Was willing to train.  After 2 years of employment would reimburse you for external training.
There was a gulf between production staff and office staff.  When old owner was looking to retire and let board the company policies of becoming overly politically correct.  Previous manager was very supportive, new manager wasn't.

I really enjoy working at Selkirk. Their culture is like none I've ever worked in. The staff are engaged and capable and the work is interesting. Always opportunities to be involved in unique projects in various departments. Work environment is fairly casual and everyone is extremely friendly and helpful.

Great environment, conducive to learning and growing in your role.  A workplace where innovation is welcomed and where Management is always seeking to grow the company and work to ensure it is an industry leader.

Selkirk Signs is a company that has changed and grown in the years I have been working here.  From the almost mom and pop shop that it felt like at the beginning to the Employee owned product it is becoming.  It has been a wonderful place to work and grow; especially if you love signs.

The people working there. Most are awesome!

Poor communication from leadership
